Thrifty Car & Truck Rental Bowral

Massive red flag buyer beware with these guys. have used these guys previously without issue. I dropped in to hire a car on a Friday, discovered they were closed over weekend so had to rent for three days not one so we rented a great little car for Friday-Monday morning. We decided to change our destination to drop off at Sydney airport. We contacted the thrifty contact centre (as Bowral franchise is unavailable on weekends) they pulled up our rental contract and informed us there would be a $180 charge. We agreed. Three days later i get a call from Tracey saying it's going to cost her $660 to get the car towed back to Bowral. I explained the situation and was told the contract was with the Bowral office not Thrifty reservations. I've rented a lot of cars in my time and dropped off at different destinations without issues. Buyer be aware.. While it should not be their problem it should certainly not be my problem. I paid the fee so Thrifty Bowral isn't impacted, but now i certainly am, if i was told 660 i would have dropped it in Bowral. Buyer be aware - don't get caught paying over $1000 for a car for the weekend with Thrifty Bowral. Ultimately this is a probably a Thrifty Master Franchisor issue that i now bare the cost for.
