Rented a long board for 2 days ($45) but made the fundamental mistake of not fully checking over every detail including state of fins beforehand (make sure you note everything like you would when renting a car). My daughter and I used the board for an hour in total at Clarke’s beach in very tame surf, no rocks and no reason to explain cause of damage. Horrified on return to be asked to pay $100 to repair the tip of one the silicon fins by a ‘pro shaper’. My mildly shocked reaction prompted the Salesgirl to call her boss who apparently can do the repair work for $60. Feeling like I’ve been scammed here which left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. Daughter enjoyed the surf experience but dad didn’t enjoy the aftermath. Check before you rent and take notes is my advice.

Bought an expensive (~$150) pair of Hurley boardies which fell apart at the seams after a few times in the ocean. The staff were quite friendly but refused to refund or rectify the fault because I had taken the tag off. Don't think they understand the concept of a statutory warranty. Not worth my time to purse this but I thought this was a poor outcome and I would be wary.

Wow, I'm just simply amazed- the amount of support the staff provide are extremely helpful and has aided me to buy the perfect board. Always come here!

Terrible rental board experience.nRented a Malibu longboard this morning, I’m an experienced surfer from the South Coast. Small waves today, 1 footers, I’d only brought my shortboard so decided to rent a longboard.nThe Malibu had an obvious past break, had been completely snapped at Tallows beach but the salesgirl cheerfully replied it’s been fixed by a pro but might be a bit weaker.nSure enough after the second wave the board snapped in exactly the same place as past break.nOn return of the board the original salesgirl reiterated that it’s not unexpected the board snapped in the same place.nAt this stage I was expecting an apology and maybe even the offer of another board as I was 2 waves into a 24 hour rental.nA second salesgirl appeared and implied I must have ‘hit something with the nose’ - I repeated that I just surfed a wave no trauma.nA phone call to the surf board shaper who ‘makes boards professionally’ and I was asked to pay up $120!!!nI admit I’m not a surf board shaper and I can’t refute the claim they say the remodelled is as strong as original but I do feel if you rent a board that has had an obvious snap and remodel, your salesperson suggests and uses the word weaker and after 2 surfs the board does exactly what it did before you apologise for renting out a dodgy board, keep the $30 you got and not imply it’s my fault and have me fork out another $90.nAbsolutely appalling customer service and a very negative experience

They gave us the wrong size when they packed our purchase away. We left Byron the next day and only noticed after we left. Spoke to Anna on the phone and they failed to take any responsibility or provide a solution to their mistake.nnThis proves what sort of shop they are - happy to take your money but won't provide any fair service at all. Very unprofessional.nnAvoid and take your money to a shop where they care.
