Fantastic service! Conditions were communicated clearly prior to hiring. Unlike many car hire places, there were no surprises! Easy to deal with and great in terms of budget. Definitely recommend!

DO NOT HIRE FROM THESE GUYS! There's not enough room here to tell you the whole nightmare, but similar to what other reviews have said already - they took $3300 off our credit card to cover the excess, which is unusual to begin with, but what are you gonna do when your family is waiting to get out of the airport? And surprise, surprise - they won't give it back! After we returned the car I hadn't received the money for a whole month, so I called them and they said they had no record of me.nnUPDATE: The company claimed that I did damage to the vehicle that I absolutely did not do. What about the initial damage report? They won't give it to me. And they won't give it to Fair Trade either. And Fair Trade can't demand it. So as soon as they find out you've thrown your copy away, they've got you. Don't listen to the positive reviews - they're the folks who these guys couldn't scam for one reason or other. They're completely and blatantly dishonest. I did NOT get my money back in the end. I am NOT telling only half the story. I WAS SCAMMED.

There are two reviews here that do not tell the truth and the whole truth of what actually occurred One is a Rhonda Napper and the other is a Julian Hamilton..nnThe first instance is the one by a Rhonda Napper and where her son had damaged our vehicle and had to pay for the damages and was refunded the balance. And, Yes! That did take time until the repairs were done and the sum to be refunded known.nnThe second instance is the one of Julian Hamilton where he did approach us and then did go to the Office of Fair Trading who also told him that he was only entitled to the balance of his monies after damages were deducted.nnIt is a shame that people write reviews but fail to mention salient points in what they state and make it appear that businesses are always to blame.nnPeople have to understand that Australian businesses are not either Divisions nor Departments of Centrelink and someone has to pay for damages to the products of those companies as they cannot bear unnecessary costs and which is why the cost of goods keeps rising in order to pay for the few that damage property and expect to get away with it.nnThis company has no problems with people if they write reviews for, or against, it but it certainly will not stand by and let the reviews be one of falsehoods.nnWe were not going to respond on these two matters out of about five who were unhappy Customers out of fifteen reviews at this stage - 33 per cent who did not like our service versus 66 percent who liked our service enough to give us 5 stars each. . However, when someone tried to use them as examples we thought it was time to clarify the two matters and clear the air.nnPlease note: No company can please every customer all the time.nnCustomer Service.

I was absolutely impressed with Gold Coast Car Hire. The car was waiting for me at the airport and was very clean. It smelt like getting into a brand new car. I had the car for a week and found it to be very economical and cheaper than catching public transport. The paper work was very easy to fill out, the cost was the cheapest on the Gold Coast and when the car was returned I was able to leave it at the airport. I had asked for a phone call to say that they received the car back as you never know someone might have pinched it before they did check it was there and I received a text message saying that the car was there and left in a spotless condition. The easiest and cheapest people to deal with. Will recommend to all. Thank you for making my trip hassle free.

The Steve Griffiths review certainly takes the cake. This gentleman hired a car, extended it without informing the office and would not answer his mobile phone and therefore forced the company to charge his deposit. We left him messages to that effect and advised him of the same on return of the car after its due return. When he finally supplied an account, due to some problem with his Credit Card his deposit was returned to his account. It is certainly great when someone disappears with an expensive vehicle and does not care to inform the company and then complains because the company has taken his deposit and returned it to him in a way to have a paper trail. Appears that it is always the business at fault and never the Customer who creates the situation.
