Awesome Campers Hire Brisbane

Went through awesome campers as it was the best value we could find. Picked the van up in cairns stopping through all the attractions it had to offer. Drove 2500k through to Brisbane with absolutely no dramas. Van was clean and well looked after. Plenty of storage space, and went okay on fuel. Highly recommend if you want a cheap road trip.

Please do your research before campervan hire and please steer clear of this company. My friend and myself hired the Elgrand from Awesome Campers. First off, this company provided us with an illegal unroadworthy car. **SEE PHOTO FOR THEIR REPLY to my complaint - clearly there is no care factor**. When we dropped the car into Perth at the end of our hire and may I say the person we dealt with at Perth was great - efficient and very helpful - but little too late at the end of our hire. We were informed that The Elgrand was actually not even road worthy - x2 tyres were completely bald and the driver headlight did not work (which we discovered days into our trip but could not get fixed). So, we had driven for two weeks doing 4800km in an illegal unroadworthy car! I did question the state of the tyres when I picked the car up from Adelaide, to be informed they had been checked.nnThe car was in very average condition and didn’t work as sold. We mainly wanted a van with a sink, water and fridge (connected to dual battery) so we could stay in remote locations not needing to connect to power or pay for caravan parks. As per Awesome Campers, the fridge was supposed to hold battery for 8-12 hours after driving for a minimum of 4 hours. Day one, we drove for approx 6 hours straight and the fridge went flat after 1 hour - our cold food we had purchased was ruined, $100 worth of food. We reset the inverter as suggested and day two after 8 hours of driving, again same thing happened.nnI called Awesome Campers as soon as they opened and they were not willing to get battery replaced for us as they said they were unable to find someone until the next day to replace the battery and we would need to stay for an extra night which we couldn’t due to our tight schedule. Funnily enough, they have it written in their contract they won't pay for any off-road time even if its due to a fault in the car *not caused by you*. They told us to purchase an eski and after questioning the money side of things, their solution was to “refund” us $200. Not really a refund when we then had to use this money to purchase an eski to store our food/drinks for the remainder of the trip (2 weeks) and buy ice every day, also they didn’t care about the money we spent on our food. We couldn’t keep the eski as we were flying out from Perth, they also didn’t care.nnThe side mirrors didn’t even click into place properly, and in the wind would move constantly - subsequently we drove with no passenger side mirror vision. The sink leaked, so we couldn’t use it. I would never hire from this company again, they don’t care once you have picked up and paid for the van, they are not willing to help and they are happy to let people drive illegal cars on the road. Please DO NOT waste your money.

Great company, the car was spacious and clean and well equipped with a kitchen sink and fridge. We were upgraded possibly due to the covid and they have plenty of vehicles. We originally had a different car but felt there were a couple of problems, after ringing this company they changed it straight away no questions asked which was very helpful.nMags customer service is awesome, especially in these times having someone friendly on the other end of the phone is really appreciated.nThe car it’s self was east to drive, and felt very safe- only slight issue was it consumed a lot of fuel but that is to be expected with the size I assume.nWould recommend this company to anyone looking to travel and sleep in the van.
