Avis Car & Truck Rental Airlie Beach

We had a last minute plan to rent a car for couple of days. Jay and his team were extremely helpful and made it possible for us!

Avis Car rental, customer service team and reservation team have the most worst customer service. We booked a car by the reservation team by calling 61293539000, we were told that the car we wanted was available, got the confirmation email but when we went to get the car that car was not available and we were given different car that did not suit us. Then we called the customer service we were put on hold for 3 hours but we did not get any help. They keep transferring calls to different peoples, sometime putting on us hold and disconnecting call without informing. They transferred to Call to the local centre who were rudest person ever and they were blaming reservation team and asked us to talk with them and when we told that to reservation team they said it was local centre’s fault as they gave reserved car to someone else. Avis car rental is non reliable company, lack of customer service and they do not have empathy. We came from Brisbane to Airlie beach for holiday and due to Avis car rental company’s miscommunication or negligence we have to suffer and our day has now ruined. We even requested to provide us similar option or anything but they kept blaming each other but we did not get any help or solution. On top of that, while we on phone call with the reservation team, we were told by the local centre that the car has been reserved for 2 hours and we have pay for that... can anything be more frustrating????We will never and ever trust this company. Hopefully, we will at lease get out full refund.

Disappointed with the service of Avis. The car we booked was not available during the time of collections and both the reservation team and location team was making excuses. They kept on hold for around 2.5 hours and even didn’t solve our issues. Will never recommend the AVIS for anyone.

I made the car booking through Avis by contacting the reservation team. Spoke with one of the staff. I explained him we are 6 people and looking for the car to hire for a day, I asked him if there is any seven seater car available. He said they don’t have any 7 seater but they have mistubushi outlander available which has got the back seat and will fit in 6 people. I confirmed that car as were fine with that. Went to pick up the car next morning at the location, was handed over 5 seater car. Called reservation team, to find out what actually happened was transferred here and there without any help. Just waited on hold for more than 2 hours. Reservation was blaming the Airlie beach Avis and the Avis was blaming the reservation. At the end got no help, ruined our holiday. It was the worst experience I ever had in my life.

Thanks for the great service and value!! Jay was very efficient and made it drama free hire and return. Friendly local staff that were kind enough to share some local hidden secrets close by. Beautiful waterfalls to private tropical beaches.
