Don’t believe their online booking system or some staff as they lie. Booked online and spoke to someone who said it was fine and then called again on our way to pick up the car to confirm and they said no cars available. We drove past on our way to Hertz and saw plenty of cars out the front. Terrible service and the man on the phone was rude with no sympathy or apologies for their failed system. Even another one of their staff said our booking was fine. Will never use AVIS. Never have and now never will.
Rented multiple times in the last few months vans, long truck as they had nothing else to travel up to Melbourne... cost a fortune in fuel but had no choice, another truck to go to Sale a week or so ago and ordered a Ute for pick up today the woman asked for a $400 bond on my card as it was a Visa Debit. I think i have previously used a Qantas Cash card but can't be sure. Anyway... Both of the staff have served me before but today a change of attitude and inconsistent. You know I have live many years without using Avis and I can find alternatives so this joint has any future rentals. The woman even said let me look up the previous rental... i thought go back several to find the one YOU served me with. Like I said Inconsistent and make the rules up as they go along. I managed to get someone on FB to do it for $50 so I actually saved $60 plus fuel by NOT renting. Pays to shop on Facebook.
As long as you play by their rules all is well
