Freedom - Southport

To whom it may concern On 18/07/2020, I purchased a Salsi lounge and a sideboard from Freedom Furniture Southport. Invoice No 2080030066097 I added the sideboard to the invoice on advice from the salesperson Michelle. Because I couldn’t get onto my husband to agree to the additional purchase she said to just do it and I could cancel later if he objected. I rang the store so many times to cancel the sideboard but can never get an answer. After ringing regularly for around 4 weeks I finally got someone to answer and I was told that I couldn’t cancel the sideboard, it was too late and then she agreed to cancel but I would lose 25%. I was never told this by Michelle. My mother was with me at the time and she is a witness to the conversation between Michelle and myself. I have tried ringing your head office but the number doesn’t exist anymore and I can’t find an email anywhere to try to resolve the situation as the one I found is no longer in use. Your help centre is generic questions and answers that are of no help to my particular situation. We are a family of 5 on one wage and simply cannot afford this penalty or the purchase of the additional sideboard. What should I do to try to resolve this situation please? Sadly, BOTH , quality and customer service is non existent at Freedom Southport. I highly suggest looking elsewhere. The poor sales people will say anything to make a sale and then can’t deliver on those promises. Spent thousands on a sofa, only for it to fall apart in less than two years, they then offered a full replacement. We were hesitant but we’re promised that it was a rare faulty item and won’t happen again. We mentioned the 4 month wait we had to endure last time so they recommended a replacement that would get to us by end of July. They promised and promised, so we got the couch. Now, it’s the end of July and no one had even contacted us. When I called them, they said “yeah, won’t get it until Sept. the store manager Matt - could not care less. Completely baffled by how little they even care. Freedom Southport is not what it used to be and Matt the Manager is beyond arrogant and rude. Don’t expect any customer service let alone good customer service. Have reported to ACCC

We just recently purchased a beautiful mirror from freedom. The mirror is exactly what it was on the website. I love it! My husband picked up the mirror today and said the Manager Matt was very helpful and attended to help him as soon as possible. He was very professional. Would highly recommend Freedom at Southport to people I know as the Furniture and service is of a high standard. 👌🏼

I was totally unprepared for the rude & condescending response i got when trying to purchase a sale item. The price was obviously displayed at $139, down from $149, so upon purchase was told $299 !! I said I wanted it at the advertised price, but they spun the ticket around to show a faint handwritten price of $299. Said it was the 'Milliner' at $139 (as if I knew their label names) and they hadn't had time to do up the correct pricing, so had hand written on the back of an existing tag. When I mentioned that my thoughts were they had to sell at the advertised price, they launched into me. 2 young girls and a guy who had been on the phone abusing someone. I have bought many items at Freedom, but never again.

Ordered quite a few items back in May, they all arrived weeks later than the expected date. Its now been 8 weeks and the mirror I ordered which I was informed would be 6 weeks still isn't here, however its availiable online within 10 days as has been for some time. multiple attempts to contact the store but they never answer the phone... ever
