JUCY Car Rental and Campervan Hire Sydney Airport

I had a great experience with JUCY Sydney, Pickup was good, I waited a little while but you can see the staff are under the pump and doing their best so have a little patience! The lady behind the counter is brilliant! I was sad I dropped the van off late and didn't get to see her again!! The JUCY Coaster is amazing! I have some feedback for the owners if they wish to contact me, I am more than happy to share it. ALL IN ALL - go in prepared with some cleaning wipes and patience, and you will have a great time! :) P.S. turn off the LDA and YAW settings in the little window behind the steering wheel to stop it correcting your steering, mildly terrifying on windy roads!

Rented a car from Jucy in January 2020. Staff was great both on the pick up and drop off. The car was a little beat up but it ran well, we had no problems and felt it was fair for the rate we paid. Would recommend and will use them again the next time we are in Australia.

Please ask this place to take photos or video of the car during the pre-inspect and have them send it to you, just like any other rental place would do. I made the dumb mistake and didn’t notice the windshield crack until after on my way to my destination. Long story short, I bought Jucy a brand new windshield from a previous renters mistake. I feel like they slid this under my nose and I was too oblivious to notice. Just be careful with this place!

Car was old had 112,000km and terrible suspension. Jucy only have offices in main cities, so was near impossible to get help once on the road, unless wanting to waste time at a mechanic, which was the only option offered to us. Car was not ready on arrival and windscreen was so dirty it was dangerous. We had to scrub it ourselves before driving far. In general the customer service was incredibly average and I would not recommend them to anyone. Furthermore, I made a complaint to Rentalscars.com who I booked through. They tried to fight for a partial refund for us and Jucy flat out refused. I just regret not reading the reviews for Jucy before I booked. They clearly show how bad the experience can be.

Comprehensive review I'll put a score on each aspect of Jucy and give details about it. This was my own experience renting a campervan for me and my family, we used it for two weeks. 1. Cleanliness 4/5: Edward - whom cleaned the van - did an amazing job inside and outside the van. The covers and sheets were washed but had hair on it, it seems that the dryer was overloaded or not clean and left these on the sheets. 2. Staff 5/5 outstanding service, they were nice, helpful and gave me the information I needed. No downsides here. 3. Car 5/5 I got what I asked, the car was working well, with integrated GPS and all small details were tuned as they must to be. Safety OK in this aspect. 4. Safety 2/5 I mentioned the car before, but this score is for all the other details associated with the features and setting up the bed, etc. My campervan had a tent at the top of the car, but the ladder they gave me was not the right for my car, this made climbing up really unsafe. Fine for a sober adult, but going up with a toddler sleeping in your arms in the middle of the night was not safe at all. The inside table was not in good condition, a lot of lose or missing parts showing a lack of maintenance or they didn't change things that were supouse to be changed. All this was hard to manage with kids around while I was trying to cook, etc... Definitely not suitable for a family, maybe it is for a backpacker. 5. Pick up 2/5: I received all the necessary instructions to use the van, Edward was really helpful and this is why this item has 2 stars. Unfortunately I had to wait 11/2 hours because my campervan was not ready when I arrived. 6. Business model 2/5: I rented through vroomvroomvroom, which was managed through motor republic, which finally contacted Jucy, this made extremely hard for me to modify my booking in any way. And because the price was lower, its look that I received a campervan with old internal settings, despite I got a relatively new car. Instead of taking advantage of these platforms to promote their business, they give the cheapest options to their customers. Overall 3/5 Jucy is an average rental company for campervans, with amazing staff, small issues in cleaning, considerable issues in security and not the smartest business model. I would not recommend it for families/ small families, but if you are a backpacker who doesn't mind to have a suggerent lady blowing a kiss on your door next to the word "jucy", this could be a good option for you.
