Budget Car

Extremely rude and Absolutely shocking experience at Budget-Sydney Airport this afternoon! I’m a healthcare worker and I had already rented a car for a week at a discounted rate (for healthcare workers). When I went back to renew my car for another week, the lady at the desk refused to give me a car and told me rudely that I had to book it 24 hours in advance or pay full price as per their terms and conditions. She pretty much said I’d have to walk back home if I can’t pay full price. I had no such issues the previous week, so I refused to leave and stood firm. She then called her manager and got a car approved at the discounted rate. I then looked up on the website for their terms and conditions, but there was no mention of “booking 24 hours in advance”. To my surprise I was able to book a car at this rate instantly on my mobile. I showed this to her and asked her why she gave me a hard time when there were no such terms, she raised her voice and said she will take the car back from me if I didn’t leave and stormed out of the office calling me an “asshole”!!! I was shocked and refused to leave until I got an apology. The manager arrived promptly but defended their action and said I was only able to book online because of a ‘glitch’. Both refused to apologise for their appalling behaviour! I cant believe that Budget staff can abuse their customers, and get away with it!! I’m not stopping and will be taking this matter further. Healthcare worker or not, this is NOT ACCEPTABLE behaviour and no one should be treated like this.

Car hire and deposit has already been paid, car returned and remaining balance paid!!! LOOK AT GOOGLE REVIEWS & THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE AND THE COMMENTS ON THEIR POSTS to see that it is a regular common occurrence with budget car rental, that they sneakily take additional funds that isn't owed to them nor was any authorization given for random funds be taken 🤬 STAY AWAY OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE BACK HERE TO WRITE A VERY SIMILAR REVIEW!!!

I was quoted $49 per day. Only had the car for one day but here are all "extra fees" hidden in the most complicated invoice ever known. Car = $49.00 Insurance = $35.00, but was charged $40.00 Registration Fee?? = $6.50 33% Premium location Fee?? $29.54 1.17% Credit card fee = $1.44 Administration fee?? =$6.50 Total = $132.98 for as car quoted $49.00 what an absolute joke! Not sure why the ACCC can't step in and investigate this rort.

I want to draw attention the to WONDERFUL Antonius who helped my sister and I when booking a rental car on 6 Jan. From the moment we walked in he greeted us like a family.member and was the most polite, charming and helpful person we have ever come across. He is an absolute legend!! 5 stars for customer service!! Many thanks :)

Booked Vehicle with budget. Went to Sydney airport office to pick up. Quoted $198.00 for 2 days. Then they added insurance Then a deposit $400.00 deposit Then due to wanting to pay with a visa debit card, they said there system doesn't take debit cards with visa attached, All up wanted to charge me about $1000.00 for 2 days. Granted you may get your $400.00 refunded, however some if not most don't have $1000.00 lying around. See you later, never again. Went to thrifty $205.00 Insurance included $200.00 deposit which is refunded Budget, aptly named as you will need to budget for a long time to afford to hire a vehicle. Never again.!!!!!!!!
