DON'T JUST TAKE MY REVIEW, READ EVERYONE'S!!! BUDGET HAS STOLEN $585 (unauthorized) from our account!!! Car hire and deposit has already been paid, car returned and remaining balance paid!!! LOOK AT GOOGLE REVIEWS & THEIR FACEBOOK PAGE AND THE COMMENTS ON THEIR POSTS to see that it is a regular common occurrence with budget car rental, that they sneakily take additional funds that isn't owed to them nor was any authorization given for random funds be taken 🤬 STAY AWAY OTHERWISE YOU WILL BE BACK HERE TO WRITE A VERY SIMILAR REVIEW!!!

Stay well clear everyone Budget Campbellfield in Melbourne. Be warned Manvir (the manager & owner ) has some tricks up his sleeve. We hired a truck from him and left it in the car park opposite, unfortunately both batteries got stolen. ( opposite Amart ) We received this email from the arrogant manager - Hi Tom, Truck left outside last night got stolen batteries and wires been cut so will get the parts and batteries and will charged on rental. Thanks Manvir. We call Manvir to ask if we could check cctv cameras etc so we could all work together to catch the would be thief. Manvir does not have a great relationship with the company opposite ( surprise there ) and is not interesting in getting any cctv footage. Manner tells us its our responsibility and is not interested in any way of looking at cctv footage. Next we communicate to Manvir to leave the truck where it is and the police would come out and finger print it. During our investigations done from Sydney, Manvir ignored our requests and moved the truck back to his yard. Now for the best part Manvir charged our credit card on the morning of the incident. From Manvir- We do not have the time or manpower to ask neighbouring places to check CCTV this would be something the police would need to do .The onus is on you if you want to pursue further . We then after realising there were no batteries we had to get the vehicle back in our franchise yard which we did , We cannot leave vehicles in a car park of another company as it would be towed away. We have had over the time in the Budget yard over many franchises issues of people jumping fences stealing batteries. We then ask Manvir what the potential cost of all the damages and repairs would be and he says he will tell us on Monday 01st July 2019 as has to work it all out ( please keep in mind this manager has already charged our card ) So we have now contacted a few individuals high up at Budget and they say that our card must not be charged until we sign an incident form, we haven't seen one as yet or been sent one. Think fair trading will be notified on Monday. We are still waiting on the itemised bill for the repairs on the truck, it is now the 7th July 2019. The incident took place on the 28th June 2019 and funds were taken out on the same day. We will be taking this company to AFIA. A police officer has contacted Budget Campbellfield to try get more information and work through cctv footage. The police records state Budget Campbellfield has not been very co-operate with police. Manvir you and your staff are embararsing! Manvir then told us that this is a regular occurrence at Budget Campbellfield and people apparently jump over the yard to take there batteries. Why not have signs up all over your establishment if this is the case telling people its not a safe to leave vehicles. By the sounds of it its not safe to even leave a vehicle in there yard. The whole experience is dodgy and unprofessional from the initial email to Manvir's arrogance over the whole incident. I hope other managers of other franchises want to catch thieves?!Surely these people would want to co-operate with police and make these areas safer for everyone. Take your $$$ to Thrifty up the road. Please read the google reviews about this company before you part with your hard earned cash.Stay away from the arrogant manager that is Manvir.

Avoid this company at all costs. Firstly, it's interesting how if you call their reservations line you can get straight through to someone, BUT if you call their customer service help line you are on hold for an unbelievable amount of time. Essentially what they are saying is that they are happy to take your money, other than that they don't really want to know you. My partner hired a van for 1 week and Budget placed a hold on the full $850+ on our credit card. When we dropped the van off again, they took another $850+ from our card. So total amount that Budget Rent a Car Australia have taken is currently $1700+. Why did they need to take the amount twice? Surely the original amount (placed on hold) could've just been taken once we dropped the car back? Why the need to draw another full amount? We called the customer service line yesterday and (after eventually getting through) the operator said they would request a release from CBA and it would take a few hours... 24hrs later, nothing... we called the reservations line (got through straight away) and got told to call customer service... spoke to them and they said it could take up to ten days to release the funds (It had been 14 days since we returned the van)... the operator also said the request to release should've been done when we dropped the car off. Which it clearly wasn't. The operator then told us we should call our bank to get them to release it... why should we chase our bank because of Budget's sheer ineptitude? All this stuffing around and wasting time because of this completely hopeless company. Frankly, the current CEO should be sacked immediately. Lastly, the van wasn't really that cheap to hire, so how they can justify calling themselves Budget is beyond me! P.S, it's pretty obvious why they operate like this, they collect the interest on the extra money they hold. Not just mine, but imagine all the clients they have worldwide... millions of customers yearly... what a rort!!!!

I had paid $693.00 for my 21 day hire. Paid this on Monday in full and now today have been charged another $699.00 to my credit card!!! Why and I will be taking this further if the funds arnt returned to my bank account. The staff at surfers paradise are rude abrupt and not nice to would have been potential long term customer. Will never hire threw budget again. Neither will my family or friends after I've told them I've been charged over $1400 for 21 days
