Mihiri Rent-A-Car

I had a pretty unfortunate experience with Mihiri Rent-a-car. I got stuck in Queensland when the border shut to Perth right before Christmas so i needed to find a last minute rental. I contacted them right before Christmas since they were the closest location to my friends home in Brisbane. I was told that they weren’t officially open but that they had a car for me. The guy I talked to told me he would call me back and I heard nothing. So I called them a few times over the next couple days.nnFinally after Christmas I was told a car was available. I was then given another location to pick up vehicle which was much further than the original location. I came to pick up the vehicle and it was:n-Filthy inside and outn-had a headlight not workingn- windshield wipers didn’t worknnWhen I mentioned to Ray that it wasn’t cleaned he said “it is clean” quite emphatically and I didn’t want to cause a scene so I just took video and pictures of the vehicle. My friend was with me and quite shocked over the state of the vehicle. I didn’t know till I later that the headlight was out and windshield wipers not working (at a time that I really needed them). My friends father-in-law came to examine the car cause they were unsure if it was road worthy. She and I spent 40 minutes cleaning the inside and I took it to the car wash. I reached out to Mihiri outlining the issue but received no response. They then later blamed me for not bringing the car back, when I brought up the issue upon return. But I had driven an hour away to stay at another friends home since I was stuck in Queensland. I asked them what they would have done and Dee said he would not have taken the car but it was the last car they had and I had already had my friend drive me out there to pick it up.nI asked them for a bit of a discount since the price was already almost double because of the holiday. They initially said no but then gave me a 5% discount who was about $19 (less than the car wash I paid for).nnI was really disappointed cause some of the reviews seemed positive. Only a few other seemed to have had poor experiences. I would have rather have them tell me they had no more cars than give me the run around. The main reason I chose them was they were close to my friends and then they sent me out to their airport location anyhow.nnWhat a headache and disappointment over the holidays.

I have used mihiri twice now and both times have found the service price and mechanical quality of the cars great I will be back next time

Excellent experience renting through these guys. I originally booked a car for a week and kept ringing and extending it over the phone which was hassle free. The car and the price were great and my deposit/bond was refunded and in my account within a few days which some other rental companies take a few weeks to return it. Very happy with the whole process
