Funky Winker Beans

Came to this place on my backpacking trip across Canada. At first, I didn't think this was my crowd, but then it BECAME my crowd - I thoroughly enjoyed it here and was stoked to see others being comfortable enough to sing karaoke, and have a good time! Drinks were reasonable, there was a fish tank with fish at the counter, cool hair do's all around - sweet atmosphere. My friends and I sang, drank and *MAYBE* farted.

What a venue. The lifted stage makes for a killer karaoke night. It's dingy, it's weird, it's all sorts of off the wall. The art around the walls are rad, the pool table and pinball are good fun, but the bathrooms often smell absolutely horrid. However, the bar staff and security are all top notch; be good to them and they'll be good to you. It really does make for a ridiculously good time that you may or may not remember the next day.

First visit to Vancouver in a long time and this place had good specials and wicked karaoke and an all around great vibe. Met a lot of awesome people that night and I'm still talking about funkys to this day

had some positive and negative experiences at FWB, first the staff were pretty decent and the drinks were not too pricey but my main issue was that the karaoke was disorganized as they do it by randomly picking a name from a jug, it took almost 3 hours before I had a chance to sing. The other issue I had was that some of the people there were quite rude, one girl kept running into our table in hopes that we would move, I guess we took her usual spot. Next time I have the urge for Karaoke I will probably go somewhere more inviting.

Singing, dancing having a couple rounds of beer with our community is something most cultures share..great crowd, really good people sharing and belonging in happy celebration of life to spite the disappointments that trouble our every day hum drum or even hostile existence. Happy happy escape to; not from, reality.
