Embassy of Italy in Ottawa

A small embassy that provides quality services. I applied for a visa only 10 days before the trip (my mistake, usually should be at least 14 days), but I still got the visa a few hours before my flight, a large THANK-YOU to the people who work here.

No clear information provided. Some carelessness ... one wonder if they can read or just work to "push papers" ... and ... to pay for consular services only cash is accepted in 2020!!!

Processing documents through the Italian Embassy is easy if you know the requirements. The staff at the embassy have been extremely helpful at giving us the proper tools to get the process done. Thank you for all of your help over the years, The Authentication Legalization Services Canada Team.

I went to go and pick up some Italian books and movies. I was totally impressed by how friendly, warm, and welcoming everyone there is. Definitely lived up to my impressions of how likeable and awesome Italian people are. Even though they did not get the email I sent with my list of requests, they were extremely apologetic and extremely accomodating. They put up with my bad attempts to remember the Italian titles and were still able to get me the books and movies I wanted. They even let me go into another part of the office to wait on the couch while they brought my stuff. The one woman even said I can feel free to just ask for her if I ever need to come again for other stuff. They even complimented my limited Italian. Not all the embassies are as fantastic as this one, and I know that from personal experience.

Incompetent and rude individuals, you are never given the correct information, the rules are always changing. They are there to provide a service but you feel like you are bothering them. Website is useless because it does reflect what you really need in terms of paperwork. They never return calls, forcing you to visit on site. This is the Italian way! Embarrassing!
