This is the only place in Montreal where i have felt an attitude towards minorities. Rude and discriminatory staff. All of my friends have the same opinion. We are all very polite, not loud people. I don't understand the behaviour over and over again. They even look at your bags and almost snatch them from you to check them. We are not thieves!!!!! You tend to suspect someone else what you are yourself. Anyway, i won't visit any more. Pharmaprix and metro are nearby and are a delight to visit

This place has been part of Verdun forever. A long time ago it was a Pascal. A few years ago it changed owners. They expanded to the second floor and jam packed it with so much stuff. It's kind of hard to navigate and find things but the fact that there's more available is nice. A lot of the staff is inexperienced but there's a few people downstairs that have been there a long time and know what they're talking about.

My second trip to this store in one week and today (31st May 2020) my experience is not what I experienced just 6 days ago (Monday) and I was wondering who is this rude staff other reviewers were talking about and I think I may have encountered this person today. She was tending to the cashier counter close to the exit. (Caisse 102 / Francine B.) I picked up some terracotta pots and there was no price tag on it, the cashier asked me the price but I don’t even know myself as I had picked them from the stock on the floor. She asked that I go and check the price and I did, I came back with pictures showing her that there were no price tags for the items I picked up. She said, then she will just ring them up for the ones with price tag, to which I pointed out to her that they were not the same items (different size). She then showed her annoyance and stormed off to check it herself. She stormed back scolding me almost that the price tag was in the pot itself. I was bewildered because I really didn’t see the price tag. I am not working at Rona so I do not expect to make the connection that a random piece of paper with numbers and a bar code laying there is meant to be the price tag. There were no wordings or size indications at all. When I asked for some paper to protect the 13 terracotta pots I got and she simply brushed me off with a clearly annoyed face that they don’t provide them anymore. I’m home now and I see the so called price tag she was referring to. It merely indicates a bar code and a bunch of random numbers to me. Am I working for Rona that I should automatically recognize that this random piece of paper IS THE PRICE TAG for this product laying down on the floor? I really really do not appreciate her attitude and her unkempt appearance. She clearly was unhappy and since other Asian reviewers commented that they felt like they were treated differently/badly because they were Asian and I feel the same now with this Francine B cashier. If she was so unhappy, she should just not work and stay home and save everybody else her attitude, I am not her child for her to reprimand just because I did not notice the piece of bar code and numbers in the ocean of things there. I am lodging a formal complaint to Rona management because of this cashier Francine B tending to cashier 102. I wish all Rona staffs were like the middle age lady who helped me on Monday because she took the time to help me pack my purchase carefully, if you don’t have the right attitude to be in the service industry, stay HOME Francine B. —— Went there yesterday (Monday, 25th May 2020) and picked up some planter pots. There were 2 cashiers opened and I queued up on the left side, noticing them serving several customers who arrived after me only to realized later that there is only one waiting line to which the younger cashier finally mentioning that I need queue on the the other side. I was served by a middle aged lady and she very pleasant, kind and helpful. She took the time to wrap the little terracotta planters I got and I’m writing this review because of the nice experience I had with her. Removed one star because the store does not sell live plants and that the one line queue should have been clearly indicated to all.

Super terrible customer service by two rude middle-aged man and woman and not to say how they were hypocrite. The smell of cigarette inside the store is terrible as some employees smoke near the backdoor. This store is truly not recommended. Better to go to Home Depot or Canadian Tire.
