First and foremost this is a hardware store. This isn't a lumber yard. I've found more and more during the pandemic that I'm frequenting smaller scale retailers for a couple of reasons. Early on in the pandemic, there were waiting lines at most of the big box stores. I've never seen or experienced a wait at this Ace Hardware. Secondly, the store has a great selection and they have just expanded into a 2nd unit that closed next door. They blew through the side wall and viola, now the store has even greater selection. Really for convenience and fair, competitive price alone, I've changed my shopping habits to frequent this local community retailer. Finally the people there are helpful, pleasant and efficient. I'm in and out of that store and back to my project in no time. I'm definitely glad that we have this store in our community. Please everyone, continue to support small business.

I typically like the convenience of this store and its location. Since they have expanded into a bigger store here, there are a lot more of the decorative stuff now, but they are not really using the extra space for adding the main base tools like circular saws and that type of equipment. (Although, their plumbing and outdoor items have grown, it seems.) What I find very frustrating at this point is that it's been several months since their expansion and they are still don't have prices displayed on so many items! They require you to bring up the items to get scanned if you are interested enough to ask. Big mistake! Today, when I expressed my observation to an associate that there are never any prices on so many things, she rudely snapped back that they have expanded and are a bit busy trying to set things up still. Thanks for taking in the feedback from your customer. So sorry to have bothered you as a customer whose experience in your store is what makes or breaks your store's ability to survive. See, I understood when it was the first week. I understood when it was the first month. I still had some understanding 2 months in, but it was fading. It is now November and they got bigger in the summer. I am sorry, but, no. This store is not that busy, and by now, I should hope some priority would have been placed on basic brand standards like price tags for their products. If they are having issues with sales and that is affecting their ability to have the right labour, they need to consider how many possible sales are they losing because of the hassle it is for a customer to bother them every time they see something they could buy but instead don't find it's worth the effort. How often are customers, like myself, trying to decide between which items they feel like lugging up to the register just to check the price, and by doing so, already elimminating items from their list to even consider buying because they don't want to bring a load of things to the register they might just end up having to put back? And I don't like humming and hawing at the til while people are waiting behind or waiting for help. Also, I HAVE stood in line to get prices checked, or waites at the register for someone to notice and assist me with checking -many times. Then, I would go put some things back and continue considering my options. Once I decided (or if I had further price questions for other items), I have looked at the items in my hands and realized they no longer felt worth the effort or time of having to go back in line to pay or do a new price check and pay. In this pandemic climate, this back and forth and lining up multiple times also means having to come across more people more often and awkwardly navigating the tiny aisles to keep your distance. It's making my experience at this store go further downhill every time. They need to stop putting the effort of making a sale onto their customers. It is their job to merchandize effectively so that customers have an easy choice. Many sales get lost the longer customers have to think about their purchases, and the extra decision energy and physical energy kills the motivation of shopping for things they could be buying here. Other stores have systems of moving price tags when they move product, and they even do it in the midst of holiday rushes and major sales events with customers pouring in and out of their store. It CAN be done, so no more excuses, please.

Older & smaller neighborhood hardware store but they carry a wide variety of items and their customer service is always amazing! I've been a handful of times for a variety of items & have always been approached if I needed assistance/help finding anything etc.
