Two years ago I bought a patio set from Marshall’s. I paid just under $900 for this set: When I got the set out of storage this year the whole set had completely fallen apart. All the plastic wicker cracked along the arms. It is unusable. I was told by management at both the store and head office that after a year nothing could be done. They said I would have to deal with the offshore manufacturer which was unknown to me. They did not offer to help me find out that information. This was a fairly significant purchase I made at a store like Marshall’s and I was not happy with their lack of customer service. I even asked if they would give me a gift card to cover the cost of taking the furniture to the landfill. This request was also met with a firm no. Very, very disappointing all round for me. Definitely lost a regular shopper.

Went to Marshall’s Hillside on the 19th August . Sign at the entrance says face masks must be worn after the 17th. I didn’t have mine so walked home to get it only to find less than a third of customers were wearing masks and no staff enforcing it. I don’t know if masks are effective but if they are a requirement to shop in a store they should be enforced. I get some people are exempt on health grounds but not more than 2 thirds at one time.

I honestly don't know why I don't dismiss these requests to review large corporations with structured behaviour that makes sure anything that isn't an employee snapping and going on a murderous rampage is a non-negative experience. Anyway it was aight, clean store, accessible hand sanitization, employees were masked and very polite. Overall a non-negative experience.
