Usually you go to the hardware store backward dreading the time you’ll spend there , but tonight it was like I went to Neverland. Amazing service from knowledgeable and joyful employees. Special thanks to Simon and all the staff who made buying screws and lumber an enjoyable experience! Merry Christmas.

I bought 2 Protec cartridges that are a few $ from here. Never opened the second one cause it was a warm winter and I did not need it. When I opened it now, a few months later, turns out the box is empty. The item is cheap and by principle, I felt I was owed what I paid for. I sent an email to the Reno Depot client servicing through their website, but they wiped their hands clean of it saying it was the shop's problem. The customer service agent who spoke Jean Claude to me at the phone told me that it's their policy not to exchange or refund if the sold date was over 3 months, but he was kind enough and courteous enough to give me an exception. I had to come to the shop though, in the middle of a pandemic in the Montreal red zone for a 10$ item. I just let it go. It has cost me much more in time, but I wanted to see where this sub par customer service could go (not Jean Claude, he was great, but rather the customer service team at Reno Depot's headquarters and their rigid rules). I am quite disappointed with Reno Depot as a corporation since they are not accommodating nor empathic.

Purchased paint for a job from another Reno Depot. Needed another 5 gallons so I sent my driver to this location because it was on his way home. He took a picture of the original mix and stopped at the store. Not only did the employee manage to screw up the mix, he also changed the type of paint used. Because the job was far away I told the guys to go ahead and repaint with the new paint. I told my driver to pick up a second five gallon on his way home. He came back the following morning with the same brand and colour code, but a different base. When I spoke with the manager he basically called me a liar and said that my guy couldn’t have shown the pictures and must have brought a sample of the colour with him. Well done my friend, you just insured that this store will never see any of my business again, and that Home Depot will see much more of my business in the future.
