Our 3 piece Rockabilly band recorded here. We got an organic sound which we were very happy with. The studio has a homey vibe too. Reasonable rates, patient friendly engineer and also had some great suggestions as far as production and harmonies. It helps that the owner/engineer is also a musician. We have been back a few times and have been happy with the end result.
Great experience! Duncan took the time to make sure that the song that I did came out sounding great. I'm really happy with the results. Also he has a neat looking space 👍😊
We recorded five tracks for our EPK, live off the floor, at Black Box. Duncan was very professional but laid-back in his manner which is exactly what's required to set up a good session. His knowledge of the mixing board and post-recording software processing options made for a pretty efficient and cost-effective experience. Because Duncan is also a musician, it really helps the creative process that happens pretty quick when you work live off the floor. We left with the feeling to want to come back to do a full-length product for re-sale. Duncan and Black Box is living proof that fancy don't always mean good!
Duncan really helped me out when i needed a drum track. and he was really quick too which was great. very talented!
Horse Opera recorded three singles here. It was a great experience and the result came out really well. Duncan is easy to work with and knows how to mic the instruments etc. He gave us a great rate too. I'd work with him again anytime.
