Horrible staff. After being told a specific bike was coming into the store and had my name to it they gave the bike to someone else. I had been phoning up for over a month then they say it was coming in the 9th of June so I waited, from the 9th to the 12th of June I heard nothing so I kept ringing them and they said the same thing that "my name was down to have it", only on the 12th of June that they had sold it. Terrible customer service they kept saying they would phone with more infomation but I had to keep ringing them so I was kept in the dark the whole time. All that time waiting and I could have brought another bike.

I bought a £600 bike from the Stafford store having been reassured that the bike would be delivered to the store, set up and tested for me as I am new to cycling and wanted it done right. One week later and without any notice the bike was delivered to my work in a box completely untested. I spent the evening watching YouTube videos and trying to set the bike up the best I could. As soon as I took it out it was clear there was a problem with the brakes which were jamming on and the gears had not indexed. I took the bike back into the store where I spoke to the same person who had so unenthusiastically sold me the bike originally. I explained the problems and asked if someone could go over the bike and make sure it was set up correctly. 1 week later I am asked to come and collect the bike again. It looks to be working well and the brakes have been replaced. I head over to north Wales for a cycling holiday with a friend and on the second day having done no more then 60 miles both pedals snapped out of the cranks. All the grip had been completely worn away and the pedals could not be re-attached. I was forced to push it the 6 miles back to where we were staying. I called the shop to ask what had happened to be told that they only looked at the brakes when I dropped it off and it was my word against their shop assistants that I had asked for any more to be done. I was then told I should have watched better you tube videos to set it up and the store employees have no reason to lie about what was asked for suggesting that I would need to lie?!?! I am now paying another shop to change the entire crank set and fit new pedals so I can ride a brand new bike and the Stafford concept store couldn't care less. Reg the store manager all but called me a liar and showed zero customer after care. I highly recommend that you do NOT buy a specialized bike but if you do get it from anywhere but the Stafford store. Very unprofessional staff and a real discredit to the company brand.

Hubby and I have popped in here and the sister shop near Shugborough a couple of times. I can imagine they are all over you if you want a 2 grand bike but if you are browsing and ask for advice you are lucky to get a grunt from them. My husband is 50 plus and convinced they are ageist. If that is the case they are very misguided as he is prepared to spend a lot of money for friendly service... and it definitely won't be here. There are bike shops in Stafford who value the oldies.

I'm writing this on behalf of a friend who bought his first mountain bike, a rockhopper comp, from this store. After getting the attention of the staff, they recommended he would need an xl frame due to his height. They didn't have this in stock at the time but arranged to have the bike delivered to the store, set up and driven to his workplace during the week (as he worked about 45 minutes away and wouldn't be able to get back to the store until the following weekend). This was very good customer service and we were very pleased and grateful for the offer. Fast forward a few days and the bike arrived at his workplace in a box, not setup at all and no instructions were provided (this is his first mountain bike). After taking it home and assembling it himself, making sure not to over torque any components, he took it for a short ride to find the brakes were sticking on and the gears had not been indexed whatsoever. Shifting was an absolute nightmare. My friend spoke to one of the managers at the store who said it shouldn't have gone out boxed and that they would set it up correctly if returned to the store. The bike was driven back to the store and a full setup was requested. Fast forward a few more days... the bike was picked up by my friend. The paintwork had been chipped, a small chunk taken out of the top tube, the bars weren't aligned correctly, the gears worked slightly better and the brakes were no longer sticking. A couple of weeks go by and we're riding some roads in Wales, my friend goes to push off on the right side pedal and it completely breaks away from the crank... we attempt to re-install it but the threads inside the crank have been completely stripped, i can only assume from cross threading. Looking at the non drive side, a similar situation was occurring... the pedal was pulling away from the crank. We took the bike to a local shop in Wales (who was A LOT more helpful than Specialized were being) and even with both of us restraining the bike and the technician using a 2 handed wrench, we couldn't break the left side pedal away from the crank. The bike has now been left with this local shop for a couple of days whilst he attempts to source a whole new chainset and pedals. Whilst all this was going on, my friend was in contact with this Specialized store explaining the situation and basically being called a liar and told he hadn't asked for the bike to be setup and had only asked for the brakes to be looked at... shocking customer service and needless to say we won't be supporting this store or brand in the future. As a few other reviews have stated, unless you're looking to buy a bike worth a few grand the staff don't seem to care.

Excellent customer service. Needed a suspension bolt for my 2004 Epic but the bolt kit is no longer available. Specialized Stafford investigated with Specialized UK and asked me to send in the bolt details, photo etc and they'd see if they could find the individual bolt. In the end a full bolt kit was found and posted out. The Epic will ride again!
