Halfords - Guildford

I placed my order online, this was very straightforward and easy to do (although taking money from customers seems to come easy for companies). I was told the following day that my ordered wouldn't be ready for collection for nearly a week (disappointing, but understandable and I did appreciate the call to inform me of this). Order was ready yesterday. Went to collect today (this is were the problems began). Collection was from Guildford, Surrey. I went to the Click and Collect area located at the front of the store on the ground floor level. I was told I had to go upstairs to collect it (I thought the point of having a click and collect downstairs was to keep too many customers from entering the store in these times?) I went upstairs and was greeted by 2 young men (neither of which seemed to really want to be there, and one of whom was more interested in eating his chips). I was passed my order. I asked for a bag as I had purchased quite a few smaller items and also had to carry the larger item, which was a bike. Apparently, they only had one small bag left (annoying - and In my opinion, the colleague on the click and collect station, should have asked for the items to be brought down to me, rather than asking me to go up to collect myself). Got to my car and checked the order. Discovered that 2 items were missing (back upstairs I had to go - very glad I checked before I left the carpark or I would have been greatly displeased). 1 item was given to me and I was told the other item was out of stock (Not sure how this happened when my email confirmed that the original item was ready for collection?). I was given an alternative to this product, but overall my experience in the store was less that satisfying.

Visited the Guildford store to have front and rear Dash Cams supplied and fitted. The work was booked in and started on the agreed time and was completed faster than anticipated. The staff member was very knowledgeable, polite and professional and the installation was exceptional. Thoroughly recommended.

Great service during difficult times. All members of staff were so helpful and safe regarding social distancing. I had tried to book online to have a light bulb changed but all the slots had gone. They fitted me in so quickly and sorted another issue for me too. A very positive and easy experience. I will certainly recommend to friends and family.

Had 2 headlights fitted. While still in the car park the car immobilized itself- no electrics working & car wouldn’t start. Staff were amazingly helpful & reset the computer. They went beyond their call of duty & I left Halfords a very happy man.
