This place was probably super awesome years ago. Our rooms were ok, one room had better a/c than the other. There are tons of stairs and only one elevator that goes a half a story to the front desk (it is very rickety so I would bypass it). Our room had a balcony and was comfortable. Everything is very dated. There are multiple pools that were big and nice, we also enjoyed the sauna thing (I don't remember what it is called. Breakfast was very good and the service at breakfast was really good. I really thought we were getting a fancy hotel and this ended up being more worn down than I anticipated, however it had a much more traditional mexican feel than we would have had at a more modern hotel, I guess it sort of grows on you. Don't expect much in the way of modern convenience here.

Beautiful view and the food was delicious. The staff was very accommodating. My great aunt was cold and they provided a blanket for her. The hotel is in itself beautiful and has a perfect view of the beach.

Great stay. Staff was 5, Sunday brunch was great with lots of locals.

Beautiful old building and grounds. That's what I love about Mocambo. But, they could at least not charge you for a plastic ice bucket and have ice available. That's all really. Yes, the place is a bit delapedated and moldy. I'm okay with that. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. But really charge you for ice and water!!!! The rooms are very bare minimum, but that is going a bit too far!!! Fortunately,I got a farely inexpensive rate. Had I known how run down and bare minimum this place was I'd be willing to spend an extra 10 or so a night. Oh, and the air conditioner in the rental car works way better than the one in the room! If you're just staying a night or two it might be tolerable. Our five night visit....well let's just say there will not be a repeated stay at Mocambo.
