Sunset Royal Beach

We love love this resort. We have been coming at least twice a year for the last 15 years and we enjoy it more and more every time. As members, we are greeted and treated like family and the resort feels like home to us. The units are very comfortable, the ocean view spectacular, the beach unbelievable and above all, the staff is what makes this resort unique. Everyone in every department is friendly, professional, kind, and always attentive to your needs. I can’t name some in particular, because I would not do justice to all the other I would not remember the names. One thing worth mentioning is the exceptional quality of the entertainment, especially the evening shows. Those are fantastic and not to be missed!!! Also, we were here at the Royal Sunset when a hurricane hit, and I will never forget the way we were taken care of! We were evacuated for one night to a downtown hotel accompanied by the resort staff who did everything they could to make our stay safe and as comfortable as possible!! I could not thank them enough !!! We will be back soon!

I’m going to start off by saying that the employees are awesome! Super nice and attentive. The beach was amazing as well. Nice little pool. We did the all inclusive stay and the drinks were definitely a lot better than the food. They have 2 little restaurants and a grill outside. They offered the same tasteless menu every night (food 2/5). Now the worst part about the entire trip was whenever we were about done with the time share presentation. They took us to the club sunset room at the end of the presentation to present the costs. After telling our very pushy host no multiple times, he called over his higher up (slick back, dark hair) and after telling him no multiple times, he got mad and basically kicked us out of the lobby.

Buyer beware of this resort and the time share presentation. They pry so much into your personal life....even asked why my husband and I don't have the same last name, it's 2021 people! Asking to see credit cards, I'D etc. They called my hotel to "check" and make sure I was not lying about where I was staying. Why??? I felt like my personal life was a bit over invaded. And why do 4 people need to ask me the same questions?? The lobby was unimpressive to say the least, breakfast was subpar and from 8 to 11 am, not even an offering of a drink of water. ! I would say don't waste your time with this resort. Much better options out there!

Our room oversaw the ocean which was beautiful! Housekeeping service was always amazing! With this whole pandemic I felt super safe coming in everyday, upon arrival they took our temperature as well as entering a sanitizing cubicle which was great! I have never seen anything like this in the US.

My wife and I spent 5 days and four nights at the Sunset Royal Beach Resort. We had an all-inclusive stay and my wife has a wide range of food allergies, which makes eating anywhere but home a huge challenge. We communicated with the staff ahead of time of her diet restrictions and on arrival they took her into the dining room with about 6 of the chefs. They had bought special flours, and a wide range of items to accommodate her and went through exactly what she could and couldn't have. They even set aside a special part of the kitchen to cook for her so there would be no cross contamination. Chef Roberto was amazing!! He asked my wife each day what she wanted for meals and made amazing and unique dishes within her diet limitations just for her that went way beyond what we could have imagined. Then Chef Silvano would make amazing desserts for her that were gluten free, dairy free, egg free, and only used special types of sugar! She hadn't experienced desserts like that since starting on this restrictive diet almost 10 years prior. They all work under the main chef RanulFo. We are incredibly thankful to them for making our vacation so special by catering to her unique needs. We have never experienced this kind of personal care by kitchen staff in our many travels! They were fantastic! We also want to say a special thanks to Rapheal, the Beach Butler, who would regularly stop by as we were on the beach and provide fun conversation, delicious frozen grapes, and make sure we had everything we could want while laying out on the beach. Axel Gil was an amazing host, who regularly checked to make sure we had everything we could want and to make sure the meals and service were all excellent. Even though we chose not to buy into the Private Residence Club, we plan to go back to Sunset Royal because of the incredible staff! Thank you again to all the staff that made our vacation so special!
