Occidental at Xcaret Destination

It was great stay and food was okay, could be better. Room was clean and the property was very clean, they take a very good care of the property. It was very relaxing time with all wild animals, and jungles. They does not have a sandy beach access, just in case you are expecting it. Stuffs were very polite and good drink! Two problem I had during my visit last week, first they did not gave King size bed when arrived as booked, asked to come back and check with them next day to see if they have it available. They were able to find one next day as booked !! Second, my mobile phone was stolen from Shuttle that was transporting me from their beach area to lobby within 10 min, and I tried to talk guest service multiple time, and every time they acted like they are hearing it for the first time. Guest services and resort personnel were not helpful to find my phone, and finally I did not find my phone when I left. I was using my phone right before I got on the shuttle and when they dropped me, I did not have my I-phone 11. Just be careful, if you lose your phone, you wont get much help!

We went Dec 26, 2020-Jan 2, 2021. Due to the pandemic, the hotel was allowed 50% capacity. Even with the limited capacity, the services available and the service level was fantastic! We were in Building 22 on the 3rd floor (room 22308). The building is the last one before the Royal building and we were lucky that our room had a great view of the gulf. There were no trees close but we were still visited by monkeys every day. The rooms had a loaded mini fridge and we were given a fruit bowl and bottle of champagne when we arrived. This room was a Junior Suite with 2 double beds that were surprisingly comfortable. Our building concierges - Geoffrey and Jack - were amazing. Always willing to help with a request (needed additional hangers) and good conversation. The restaurants were great! We went to the steak house, Italian, Mexican, and buffet. We attempted the Oriental, but all the restaurants were providing the same menu on New Year's Eve. The property is fantastic - the ruins, the beach, the pools. And the proximity to Xcaret was great. Definitely recommend buying the unlimited Xcaret package. Overall - we'll be back!

EXCELLENT! My wife and I came here on a short getaway. This place is beautiful! The moment you walk in you're greeted with beautiful views and immediate service. The check-in was smooth and the rooms/facilities are clean. The food was great too. We didn't know that the XCARET park was an extra fee. We didn't do it this time. On our next visit, we will definitely budget for it.

I was so pleased with all of the precautions being taken! The staff is super friendly and so attentive to your needs. We had an amazing time and were made to feel at home. Food is delicious as well! Special shoutout to Carlos Luitz who made our stay at Royal amazing! We absolutely loved him and his service! He is an amazing asset to the team at Occidental at Xcaret.

Grounds are well maintained and full of interesting wildlife. The sweet Melissa who runs the activities at the pool was amazing! She did very well involving the crowd and kept all the children occupied with many arts and crafts. She was a pleasure! Rooms were cleaned and refreshed daily. Food was plentiful and delicious! Highly recommend ❤️ I was there for a wedding and it was breathtaking with the scenery
