Hotel Riu is a modern and very well-maintained all-inclusive. The cleanliness was utterly apparent and extremely thorough (everywhere we went people were cleaning). The beach always looked pristine and natural, the food was above average (and very fresh) for an all-inclusive. Friendliness was central and recreation was plentiful. Drinks were a little too sweet for my taste but it was a wonderful stay. Reyes at the buffet was someone we interacted with a lot. He was so accommodating, kind and patient with my Spanish. Capped off a relaxing and worthwhile trip.

Very fun and relaxing place! Server Alicia at the buffet is AMAZING- one of the best servers I have ever had!! Ask for her for breakfast and lunch!! Resort is very clean, pride in all the employees is noticeable!! The burlesque show was awesome!! Wish it was longer. Only negative thing or suggestion is to leave the pools open past 7pm!! Maybe leave open until 10pm or add lighting to the ocean front for night time swimming. We will be back!!

I definitely miss being here at a time like this. The service was phenomenal, staff are attentive and view is amazing! I had so much fun when I spent the week here. When this pandemic is over I would love to come here for another vacation. I enjoyed how even though the buffet was closed for a period of time to prepare for the next meal, there would be a pizza spot available by the pool.

Our stay was on the path of being one of the best ones. Until our 3rd night things went south. We stayed in a Jacuzzi ocean view villa here at the Riu Palace Peninsula. My partner and I put our passports together and hid it underneath a luggage in the closest since the safe didn’t work and we wanted to keep it safe for the day since we were going out for water activities (big mistake). When we came back to the room I decided to check on our things since I felt a gut intuition that things here were sketchy. What I mean by that is house keeping would visit your room several times for no reason. If the room is cleaned and we’re not in it and didn’t request anything there’s no need to keep coming back. I’ve explained this to them too. But we got back in Monday we noticed only one passport was missing which was odd they decided to take the ladies passport and leave mine. Hotel staff and management has done absolutely nothing to help in fact they’re covering up for each other which is totally unacceptable. They read the key log and said only house keeping has entered the room but still do not want to say that they actually took it. Also, they did not want to give us the report we filled out to say the passport was stolen. This totally ruined our trip and our stay. We had to run around town to figure out how we can fly back to the states (they denied us to board our flight because my partner doesn’t have her passport. They were absolutely no help). We had to cancel our activities. Now we’re stuck in Mexico right before the holidays so who knows how much longer we’re going to be here. So caution to all my Americans- this is a fair warning. We shouldn’t have to deal with this nonsense after spending so much money to stay here. No one should be going through our things in the room. I would much rather the staff steal the materialistic things and not our entry/exit out the country. 0 professionalism here by the staff and management. Will not be staying here again.

The staff on the front desk were not helpful at all. They don't let even an hour late check out. The front desk staff do not know anything about the services provided by the resort. Very unhelpful. The rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful. God forbid if you ever have to deal with the front desk staff, you are screwed. They have such an attitude as if I am staying there for free or they are doing a favor by assisting me in simple tasks and questions. Two star just because the rest of the staff were good. Or else based on front desk staff, they deserve zero star
