CASA LECANDA

We took a cooking class with Marcos here and he was AMAZING. We also had a great tamarind margarita - and I normally dont like tamarind. The food he cooked was delicious and they included a personalized apron for me and my husband. Definitely one of the best things we did on the trip! The hotel looked beautiful, but we only saw the pool area. It's in an area of town with a lot of recommended restaurants and close to the main avenue.

We were so glad we chose Casa Lecanda for our stay in Merida. The hotel staff arranged prior to our arrival for us to receive a COVID test (required for our return to the US), which was a huge relief for us. Baltazar helped us every step of the way to make plans and reservations. The entire staff is kind and helpful. The property itself is beautiful - impeccably restored and maintained. The continental breakfast (with the option to add eggs, etc) was delicious and a great way to start our day in the garden.

Stunning hotel but don't make a reservation for breakfast if you're not staying. The outside courtyard is for hotel guests only, non-guests sit inside which feels stale, like an old stately home.

This is absolutely a great boutique hotel with superb and very friendly staff. I had a massage in the bedroom that was top notch. The location is perfect just outside the busy town center but all in walking distance.
