Los Aluxes

The place is nice. The stout beer is not good. They can improve.

Relocated here from Playa Del Carmen because of a hurricane. Not comparable to where we came from but doing the best they can. Our travel mates AC is not keeping up. There are 2 full size beds and a twin in this room.

Located in the center of Merida, Lo Aluxes is a great base station to explore the town. The place is visibly aging and could have been better taken care of. There is a restaurant and cafeteria for breakfast, but good food places are in close walking distance. I wish I had a mini fridge in the room. Rooms have no relevant views. But, there is a pool in the courtyard, which was heavily enjoyed at night time by some party folks. No a serious issue, though. Very casual and draws a crowd of young adults.

I have only been to the restaurant area on several occasions. It's one of my favorite buffets and the variety of food is quite good (mainly local and Mexican). The restaurant is good and also the service. You can even park your car in one of the 3 parking lots for free. I totally recommend it.

We celebrated my grandmother's birthday at Los Aluxes on a Saturday morning and it was pretty crowded. There was always a line at the buffet and while the food tasted great, the selection was kind of sparse. The wait staff was excellent though.
