A must if you enjoy culinary & culture! A group of us decided to take Tony’s market tour & cooking class, we were blown away! We decided to take this tour early on in our trip so that we can return to the market later on with more knowledge. Tony explains everything with so much detail and is great at answering questions! You get 2 meals out of the day, breakfast at a great little restaurant and then a multi-course lunch you prepare together after shopping at the market. His assistant Ruby is also super sweet! Thank you for the great mezcal and good times Tony!

This class was SO AMAZING! If you are interested in cooking, the science behind it, the culture, area and some great stories this a class is the class for you! (walking encyclopedia) Tony is amazing! Great tour of the market and tons of information, great knowledge on ingredients and history. He also has an assistant Rubi who is super sweet and will help you throughout the day. I enjoyed it so much and I recommend it. Don’t bother bringing a notebook- you’ll get the recipe later. Just enjoy the stories, colors and smell everything! 🌶 Have fun on your culinary adventure. Adiós!

Tony is an expert on so many different things, but above all, mexican food. He brought us to an amazing place for breakfast, showed us all around an awesome marketplace, explaining all the ingredients that aren't indigenous to the US, and walked us through cooking a complex mole. We enjoyed spending time with him, and him with us. I hope to take another tour with Tony in the future.

I took the more popular 'market tour and cooking class' yesterday. We met at 8am in the market, then Tony took us to a wonderful restaurant for breakfast across the street where we met his assistant Ruby. A really lovely girl from a neighbouring town that also spent the day with us. We had a great view of the women working behind the counter, he explained every item on the menu and how it was prepared. Breakfast was delicious (and included in the cost of the class). We then started to shop for our ingredients at the market, he pointed out and named almost everything you see in there, lots of info to absorb but it was so interesting. After shopping we went back to his place in Bococho. He has a very clean and organized kitchen, comfortable seating and played fun Mexican tunes. We wasted no time, Tony got us all chopping and stirring and creating and tasting. He is such an easy going, talkative guy who made us laugh throughout the day. He offered cold beer and the best mezcal I've ever tried. We created several dishes, ate them all together and everything was delicious. Definitely take this class if you are the least bit interested in Mexican food. This was a highlight of my Puerto Escondido trip. Take it early in your trip too so you can go back to the market and shop/cook with confidence with these new recipes.

Tony is an amazing cooking teacher and life teacher. This class is filled with Mexican culture! Tony makes you feel at home and caters to any food needs. I don"t have one negative comment. This is a MUST for couples, families, or friends!
