Dr. Sue Henifen is always kind, thorough, and professional. Over decades we have trusted her with all our pets, on average two cats and three small and large dogs. She has kept them healthy and happy their entire lives. ud83dude38ud83dudc36

I have taken my two cats here for years. I always thought that the Vet was knowledgeable and professional. Yet I took my cats here the other day, and the Vet came out and just laid into me. She practically accused me of animal abuse.nI will be taking my pets somewhere else.

This happened a couple of months ago but has stuck with me, leaving me with feelings of sheer dissapointment.nTo start with, my family had taken all of our pets to Dr. Scott for many years and have continued to do so when the practice became Dr. Hanifen's. I'm an established client but the last time I tried to make an appointment, I was treated poorly by their receptionist.nMy cat was puking a lot every day, and as a result, was very unhealthy and struggling to keep on weight.nWhen I called, their receptionist was very short with me and interrupted me throughout our brief conversation, saying repeatedly that it was just hairballs and to get hairball medication.nI felt very unheard and it seemed like she didn't want me to make an appointment, so I went to a different clinic. The vet at another clinic told me my kitty was eating too fast and gave me helpful advice on how to alleviate the problem.nIf I would've just taken Dr. Hanifen's recptionist's advice, I feel like my cat would have remained unwell or maybe even would have passed away.nThis whole experience was frustrating and uncomfortable for me. I'm apprehensive about ever making an appointment here again and I don't think I will. Its unfortunate that their receptionists' lack of customer service skills reflects poorly on the establishment as a whole.nLastly, I will say that Dr. Hanifen is an excellent vet. She is the sole reason this review isn't just 1 star. I hope others who work in the clinic can match up to her high level of compassion and professionalism in the near future.

I never write reviews, but this place is worth it. Salem Park is the best vet clinic I've been to in Salem in the 10+ years I've lived here. Dr. Hanifen is such a kind, caring, professional person. The rest of the staff are all incredible as well. They're doing great during this COVID-19 pandemic and are still as available and caring as ever. I wholeheartedly recommend this clinic to anyone in the area with pets. d
