Never fails. I always find amazing arrangements and gifts . Staff is kind and helpful.

I needed to order flowers and have them delivered the same day. They said they could do that and then I was informed they had a delivery fee. OK, I understand, more places have delivery fees these days. I don't like it, but I understand. Then she says it is normally $15 (kinda steep in my mind), but since it is after 2PM it has gone up to $25 (WHAT!?!?!). I tell her I need to think about that and I may call her back in a few minutes. She then informs me that I shouldn't wait too long because at 4PM it goes up to $40. Now I am definitely not going to call them back....EVER. A delivery fee is one thing, but that is just a blatant attempt to price gouge someone who is facing a little time pressure. I called another local shop and they were very helpful. They went out of their way to make sure they could get the flowers delivered where and when I needed them to be. They made the delivery and guess what...NO delivery fee! I don't know how McNamara can justify those type of fees, but I certainly cannot justify using a florist that has them when I can get a quality product and service WITHOUT the price gouge.nnAnything can be rationalized away to make it sound reasonable. You went to great effort to write this very lengthy reply to make your fees sound reasonable. Bottom line is if you are successful with your business model then good for you! However, I did indeed get a very nice arrangement delivered at a later time for a fee(included in the total price) of only $12, not $25, or $40. That makes you very noncompetitive and that will get you in the long run.nnYes you are correct in that there are many variables and things are not free, so you may want to modify your one size fits all fee structure. The delivery location was less than ten miles from your store. If there is no modifier in your fee structure for actual distance, only the time of day then there is room for improvement. If someone is really desperate to get flowers delivered in an extreme situation then let him pay for that convenience. Spreading that cost out evenly among all customers is hardly a fair or even good way to do business. That is why flying first or business class is so much more expensive than coach. They are paying for an extreme level of service.nnI stand by my original statement that your fees are excessive, poorly thought out, and unreasonably applied. Maybe your organization should ask the question. If our competitor can deliver on short notice after 2PM for $12 then why can't we? what are they doing better than us? Costs cannot always be passed along to the customer to maintain profit margins. Savings and continuous improvement must come from internal changes.

Picked up a bouquet here for a same day order. The arrangement was wonderful and the flowers seemed to last well.

For 9 years I used McNamara and was more than satisfied with their service, however there always seemed to be some issue; either the driver got lost and delivered the flowers to the wrong address or they ran our of the flowers I ordered. Last year I sent my mother flowers (I love in NC) as she had some health problems and the flowers and arrangement were so bad my other had to call to complain (and my my mother does not call to complain). They sent out another arrangement quickly and she was quite pleased. I called to than them for handling the situation and they would not take my call. I have called at other times to express my dissatisfaction and perhaps they thought I was calling after the fact to complain. After 9 years they still made mistakes and even though I kept using them they finally got tired of me and ended communication. These are well meaning people but lack the level of professionalism necessary to provide consistent service. I am disappointed there cowardly approach to this situation and have ended my relationship with them as my Indianapolis flower provider. Use at your won risk.
