Lavenia and Summers Home for Funerals

The staff was great and very professional. They were very patient with me being that I had never planned a funeral before. They made everything easier for me. I loved the way they took care of my Mother. Thank you so much for going above and beyond to make sure everything was the way I wanted it and more. Mr. George, Miss Brenda, and Miss Stephanie, you are the best!!! I could go on and on about all of the great services you all provided. I would give them 10 stars if I could!!! I couldn't have asked for a better group of people. My Mom knew what she wanted in a funeral home, and I see why she said she wanted Lavenia & Summers. I would like to give an extra recognition to Mr. George. He made sure I was happy with everything even after the Funeral services, and to just check up on me. Thank you all again!!!

April 24,2020 my husband passed away, I called this funeral home and they got my husband on April 25th, I thought this was gonna be a smooth transition but it wasn’t it turned into a nightmare. I had to keep calling them after they told me someone will be calling me. I was told they were booked and still couldn’t give me a date when I can make arrangements for my husband and it’s now been a whole week since my husband passed. I still didn’t have a date and I’m devastated because all I wanted to do was lay my husband to rest and give him the dignity he deserves. I had to reach out to another funeral home and I was very well pleased with their services. Lavenia and Summers let me down, very poor service!

When Mrs. Lavenia ran the funeral home. Service was the best. Today's owners dosen't show the same compassion and care she showed. This was a my first choice in service's now I can't give my service to them. They do not offer the same services given by Mrs.Lavenia or Joseph Summers

Can't say enough about how wonderful they are. The entire staff is so kind and really helped guide us through the process. George is very responsive and took care of everything. Stephanie is so sweet and professional. Due to Covid-19, there are size restrictions for funerals, the livestream really helped to include our extended family during this time. From the initial conversation with Emanuel, to the staff at the church service, to the grave site. It was flawless! Everything was on point and in order. We didn't have to think of anything. It was as if Emanuel and staff was reading our minds. They put in the time and effort to assure we grieved properly. Praise God our father is able to Rest In Peace as he waits for the return of our Lord and a Savior Jesus. We want to encourage others who will be faced with a difficult situation to seek the staff at Lavena's. We believe Emanuel and staff will take excellent care of your loved one.
