116 Street Station - Columbia University

The 116 Street Station is just a subway station and they are countless in NYC, but I feel some nostalgy as I used it hundreds of times when I was a graduate student at Columbia University. The beauty of this station is that you can catch the express and reach Battery Park in less than 30 minutes. And all major stops along the way, in other words it is very easy to reach anything to the south in Manhattan from it. This station was always clean, no problem whatsoever.

Pretty warm could use some cleaning. Really like the intricate tile design. Has lights when you enter the tunnel

This station is a decent station. The entrance/exit stairs are at the front of the station or end of the platform so keep that in mind for exit strategies. Very convenient location for everything Columbia university and Barnard college business. The side exit on the uptown platform is useful for southward exits. Sometimes it has a rushhour during end of the day and start of day full of students but it’s never too much that you can’t get on the train. Also the 1 seems to run frequently relative to other stations which is great.nnBarbara D said “if you need to go to Columbia university this is the stop to find!” ud83duded1
