Dumont Animal Hospital

Excellent veterinarians at Dumont Animal hospital.

I scheduled an appointment for my cat to be neutered in April with Dumont Animal Hospital while making it known to them that I was using a Friends of Animals Certificate- my family has ALWAYS taken our pets to this vet and never with any issue. Because of the pandemic they canceled our appointment and I was told to call back in July to reschedule. Fine no problem, I understood that.nnUpon calling today I was told that they are NO LONGER ACCEPTING Friends of Animals Certificates, at all! I reminded them that they TOLD ME to reschedule in JULY FOR THIS EXACT THING SINCE THEY CANCELLED ON ME. I was told it didn't matter because Dr. Diggle was no longer accepting these certificates regardless that I had a SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT WITH THEM BEFORE THE PANDEMIC. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE of them to not honor the PREVIOUS appointment I had that THEY CANCELLED ON ME.nnCompletely unprofessional and unaccommodating.

I love bringing my dog Alice there n Dr Bortz is a very kind n caring doctor she takes time out to explaining everything to u. N the front desk is also very kind n caring.

We have 4 pets that go to Dumont (two cats and two dogs). Overall the vets are extremely knowledgeable and friendly and are very good about informing you of what they are doing and why. That being said the location has a run down feel that is a bit disconcerting from an optics perspective and from a cleanliness perspective. It's also very small so if you have a pet that needs/likes their space you'll feel the stress of waiting for your appointment (-1 star). The front office staff is where the other star gets deducted! If there's 4 people up front only one of them is an all star. The other 3 will be some level of serviceable but not much more than that. I suspect this is a volume issue or potentially a cost issue (see location comments). It's not because they don't care about the animals (they DEFINITELY do) it seems like that's the way they've decided to run their business. So all in all we trust the care our pets receive and we will continue to go there (as we have for almost 9 years) I just wish the overall experience was better.

Great staff, doctors and service. My animals are always taken great care of when a service is needed. Dr. Erin's my girl...lol
