The Parkway Veterinary Hospital

This is a fantastic establishment. From the front desk, to every vet I've had (2 dogs have been going here for over 4 years); all professional and very friendly. Only issue is it is a bit expensive, but worth it.

Parkway has been taking care of my animals since 2010. I was new to Oregon in 2010, and chose Parkway because despite being a bit more expensive than the other vets with whom I’d inquired, Parkway was enthusiastically recommended to me by many people. I now understand the enthusiasm.nnEvery person at the practice - administrative staff, vet techs, veterinarians - is kind and patient, and it is clear they sincerely care about both their animal clients and about the animals’ humans.nnThe negative reviews here primarily refer to the cost of services. At surface level, Parkway does seem to be priced a bit higher than some other local vets. However, in my experience, that extra expense was more than made up not only in terms of quality of care, but in how I was charged and what services were recommended. At least a dozen times in the past ten years a vet has given me all the possible options and then recommended that if it were their animal, they would choose one of the lesser expensive options and why - always with my animals’ interests as priority. Before I moved to OR, I’d been to vets that recommended procedures and tests that were expensive and yet seemed unnecessary or inefficient. Parkway is always upfront and transparent about costs, and the post-appointment follow up done by the vets saves money on having to pay to go in for a recheck.nnOver the past decade, my dog saw every veterinarian at the practice, and each was excellent. They are clearly knowledgeable and experienced, and at the same time, they have been honest when they haven’t been sure about something. Every time, the vet has done subsequent reading and followed up with me about their findings. It is a gift to be able to trust that my animals are receiving the best care possible.nnTheir protocols in response to COVID have been as smooth as possible. Although owners are not allowed in to the building for most appointments, the vet calls while examining the animal so it’s as though I were in the room.nnI recently had to say goodbye to my dog, and they could not have been more compassionate to both my dog and to me. My cat and my new pup also go here. I have spoken so positively about my vet experiences that four friends have switched vets to take their dogs to Parkway; each has been equally pleased and grateful for the level of care and kindness they’ve received. I couldn’t recommend this practice more highly.

Dr. Trerise is amazing: not only with his years of experience, but his genuine concern for our dogs. He's been our vet for over a decade and listens to all of our questions whenever we have to visit Parkway. We feel our new pup, Ms. Keiko, is in good hands with him. She loves to see him!

Insanely expensive -- leave a mortgage payment or more on every visit. They do not seem to have any sense of how much they charge and keeping coming up with reasons for more. Disappointing.

Obtained appointment for sick kitty a few hours after calling. Kitty was examined and appears to be recovering. Over the years, they have provided outstanding, caring service. Great veterinary practice.
