Spring Garden Station

Station is weird. The station literally located on a highway median. the exits are also peculiar. with them exiting out under the highway bridge. barely anywhere to sit and since it is a highway median there's a constant roaring noise which can ruin the experience of the train itself. As a philly native, I think this is one of the worse stations. the only positive aspect is that the neighborhood is mostly safe.

Location is great. It needs some sound proofing. Seems like your standing in the middle of the highway, which is nearly true.nnWorst part of this station is the public peeing in the exit area near the turnstiles. It stinks and is unhealthy.

Nestled in between the North and South bound lanes of I-95, Spring Garden Station is a really great spot. The vehicles speeding by make it really difficult to listen to podcasts while you're waiting for the train. But let's not forget about just how WINDY it is! You can tell Septa went the extra mile to protect their riders from the elements.nnBut the absolute best part is the smell: it is an olfactory experience not to be missed. Particularly in the northern stairs, there is a very strong smell of urine. If you're a regular like me (I'm there almost every day), sometimes you get lucky and it'll have extra peaty notes to it; most likely from bums eating a meal of asparagus.nn(For real though: I really do like that they fixed the lights on the street level.)

Cool subway station because the train's actually above ground, which is weird considering you'd expect a subway to be underground, since it's called a subway and all. Crazy how things work sometimes.

It's a Great station actually.
