Reviews
I don’t typically leave reviews that are negative however I had a very unprofessional experience with Rothman on the phone. The initial person I spoke to was pleasant and professional however the second person came on the phone and demanded if I wanted an appointment or not. My situation was different from typical situations and I am not going to get into detail, but this person who got on the phone (as if to save the day) needs to NOT be so “black and white”. They were extremely unprofessional. I will not go to Rothman and I will not recommend Rothman to anyone I know.My husband and I are business people and have been for the last 35 years and it is rare that I come across someone so unprofessional. In looking at the reviews here and the replies you can get an idea of the personality type that I spoke to on the phone. These replies on the reviews are extremely unprofessional. And they give out details and information that should be private about that client. If I were the owner at Rothman I would look into this.
I’m very surprised to see the amount of negative reviews about Rothman here. I don’t typically review but I feel compelled to do so after reading them. I have had 6 cats over the past almost 10 years who have seen this vet (2 were my seniors, 2 were my husband’s seniors, and 2 are our currently living cats), have interacted with almost all of the doctors (at least 5) and have interacted with almost all of the office staff (including the manager Shelly) so I have had a pretty good amount of experience to make a fair assessment that’s not just an emotional reaction to one moment.nMost of the cats were just standard once a year check-ups and vaccine renewals with the occasional small injury until they were old enough to have terminal issues. In fact one of my first visits was to put my first cat down as a young single woman and that cat was my life. It was my first time meeting Dr Garcia and she was one of the kindest, most empathetic people I could have asked for in that awful moment.nThe most significant experience that I’ve had in terms of duration and detail was with my husband’s one elderly kitty. He developed (most likely) intestinal cancer at the age of appx 16 and with Dr Garcia’s assistance he lived a further 3, largely good years. If you’ve never experienced this type of cancer you won’t know how much of a struggle it is to find the right balance of meds and how much dedication is required to do so. Dr Garcia (and really the entire staff) helped us battle through it with no shortage of love and encouragement. We were literally in the office every week picking up meds or a new food or having an emergency visit. The staff is all so amazing - it is obvious that they are all in this career for the love of animals. I am constantly blown away with their thoroughness and compassion and just watching them interact with all of the animals proves just how much their hearts are in their jobs.nNow Covid has changed the way the office works, and I am impressed with how well they’ve adapted the business to work around the restrictions. Dr Globerman is our current vet and she has been instrumental in wrangling a sudden health issue with one of our current cats. Her communication is excellent, and although her time is in high demand, she is quick to respond and spends as much time as I could ask for helping talk through a course of action.nI know a lot of people complain about the prices. And while they are a little bit higher than some vets I’ve been to in the past, it’s not drastic. Plus I believe that you can’t put a price on the type of care my animals, who are my family members, receive.
Revised: it becomes more obvious over time that they have a very monetary mindset. Communication becomes poor after the first month or so, medications become hard to get refilled, etc. Also, tell me how this math (for the same medication!!!) makes sense: 30 tablets for $25, 7 tablets for $14 or 4 tablets for $12. Hmmm. A $600 procedure was mentioned multiple times after having it completed as soon as possible when it was introduced. Makes me think they may not have needed to do it in the first place.nnI've never been to a vet that offers so much knowledge and willingness to help before, such a great experience. I have older animals, a cat and a dog who have both been treated so well each time we come with many follow up calls on their health, just to make sure they're doing good! We appreciate the vets to no end. The abilities of this practice have not been substituted since covid either. Absolutely amazing place to bring your pets!
Went in to get my cats’ nails clipped, they came back in less than ten minutes. Fantastic service, friendly staff.nnMy dog passed recently. The staff knew her well, and sent a card with everyone’s messages about her. That meant a lot.nnThey genuinely care and do a really good job.
We've seen three different vets here and they have always been so good with our sometimes temperamental kitty. They are very thorough, kind, and helpful. They take careful notes of what she likes and doesn't like so they can make the visit as pleasant as possible for her.nnThe doctors are great and the support staff always greet us enthusiastically and dote over how cute our cat is.nnVet visits can be tough for a number of reasons. But our experiences here have always been wonderful.
