I changed veterinarians about 1 yr ago. This animal hospital is wonderful, caring with calm staff. Dr. Newman is absolutely great, he handles our animals gently and cares about his patients, our fur babies. Clean environment and I highly recommend Carthage Animal Hospital.

Matthew Newman is a great vet and I drive from Joplin to take my pets to him for care.
We will not be back!! I wish ZERO stars was an option! The female doctor is incredibly inpatient and aggressive. This was also our very first visit!!! We took our boxer in for a broken nail, in the process of getting it checked out my boxer was body slammed down on an exam table while 2 other staff members laid on top of her just to clip her nails. Our dog has NEVER had a problem getting her nails trimmed by her groomer but under the circumstances she had a hurt paw and was a bit skiddish. The nail wasn’t even treated but instead it was ripped off in the struggle of them slamming her down! I have never seen a pet treated this way by a VET or anyone for that matter ! I fear that our dog will never be comfortable going to any vet after this ordeal. Save your time, your dogs sanity and well-being, find another vet!
Due to some unfortunate circumstances we had to put down my puppy. They were quick to get us in and were very respectful and gentle. I am sad my puppy had to go, but I'm happy ut was in a calm and comfortable environment.
