I had to go Thanksgiving evening. The news I received wasn't good. Dr. Gants was wonderful, caring, and compassionate considering the news he had to give me. If you need emergency care for your pet it's worth the drive, don't waste your time on Blue Pearl. They only care about how much they can get from you, not the care of your pet like MU does.
After landing wrong from a jump during play my pup broke his leg. Since our vet was set to close for the night they referred us to this practice.nThe process was smooth and informative. The vet called us a few times through the process to offer status updates, potential treatment options, and care at home instructions. They were also quite reasonable. I've heard of people finding themselves in similar emergency situations and spending thousands at Blue Pearl. Our total for the night to assess, get x-rays, anesthesia, a splint, and meds, was only ~$550. The do not perform surgery there but have helped secure his leg and manage his pain until our surgical appointment later this week. Hoping you never need an emergency vet, but if you should I would recommend this practice!
Came in with an emergency after calling ahead. I’m holding a 100+ pound chow chow who is screaming in pain. All the staff cared about was sending us back to our vehicle and calling to check in. The only positive experience were the other clients waiting in the parking lot. They knew something was seriously wrong and helped us find a different emergency provider who actually took time to recognize an emergency instead of trying to put us into a triage queue.
I love MU. We have been treated so well whether we go to Columbia Missouri or the ER dept on North Oak Trafficway. They really care about animals and they are wonderful with the owners. So happy they are here.
Took dog to them yesterday and they were very courteous. Took our dog and let us know it was not serious. Hours are emergency only. Came recommended from another vet. Our little girl is ok.
