Porterfield's Flowers & Gift Shop

We used Porterfields for our wedding flowers and rehearsal arrangements and were blown away by the quality and design. Patrick did an amazing job with the bridal bouquet, my bride kept saying how amazing it smelled throughout the day! The tabletop decorations we had on guest tables were beautiful, our other decorations were great, and the greenery we had arranged for our rehearsal dinner were perfect. We gave them a few ideas of what we wanted and let them do the rest, and we were so glad we did, as their designs and choices were amazing.

Terrible customer service. Went into buy some flowers. They're were 4 arrangements on display. I asked for other bouquets or loose flowers that I could see and make a decision. She goes back to the cooler and brings a few loose flowers, what she called Friday special for $5. None of them were appealing. I then asked if they had a dozen roses, she then put me on to another gentleman to look after me. He took me to the back where all the flowers were kept. I picked up a dozen roses that they dressed up with green in a vase.nDon't understand how you sell flowers and you don't display them.nWould not recommend this place for flowers.

For the first year or so of our courtship my husband used Porterfield’s florists. I received long stemmed arrangements with proper wiring where needed and a tape grid to keep the arrangement in place. They were beautiful. The past year or so I have been receiving vase after vase full of more and more dirty rocks, not decorative stones, something you scoop off the side of the road, filled to the brim of the vase and only foam. No free flowing moisture for the flowers. The flowers crammed into the foam tightly packed, no long carefully preserved stems or wiring. The rocks pull the moisture out of the foam and the flowers and the flowers die quickly without proper hydration. I managed a flower shop for years. We would never present a customer with this type of lazy shoddy design work. My husband is very generous with his floral purchases, so o know it is not his doing.nI called and requested they stop this practice and they said they have filled the vases with rocks for 10 years. Well, I have pictures of their arrangements from the last 4 years and can tell you differently. If I could add pictures to this post I would, including the ball of blunder with the Malificient horns stick out of it for my birthday in 2018. Their quality and customer care has plummeted since the new design manager has started. I called and asked them not to continue this practice and they said if we don’t like it then use another florist. Okay, we will and will share that particular response with our friends. Perhaps losing more than one account of several hundred dollars a year will start to be noticed.

The office I work for ordered a $75.00 arrangement with delivery, for a funeral the same morning it was ordered. They had it delivered 1 hour after ordering over the phone and it was a beautiful arrangement. Definitely worth the money and we will use them again - especially in a pinch!
