I'm new to the area and very glad we found Southgate. The girls at the front were so nice and extremely helpful. Dr. Thompson was straight forward with the health of our 13 year old Doodle and didn't hold back that it was time for him to go. I appreciate that he was able to think of the best thing for our dog without being held back by our personal feelings. I'm already planning to schedule health checks for our other animals. I'm very happy I found this clinic.

Most people in Missoula know my Beagles and refer to me as “The Beagle Guy”. I rescue Beagles. Recently, due to the Pandemic, and cabin fever, we ended up with puppies. One morning Momma had a swollen hard breast. In a “panic” I waited until Dr. Thompson was open and called, explaining her symptoms, Dr. Thompson comforted me by addressing my fears. He set an appointment for later that day. He professionally addressed the issue. He sent us on our way, FREE OF CHARGE. Who does that in today’s world. I always try to support small businesses, but I won't allow an animal to continue suffering for several more days to see if a backordered prescription happens to show up in the next shipment just so you can make a few more dollars! Who would?nnYour own staff suggested I try to fill the prescription elsewhere, but you were too stubborn to respond to the online vendor I chose even after I called to discuss with you. Instead you tried to convince me to wait even longer for your next shipment.nnIf I could give negative stars, I would.

Recently moved here from Billings, tried going here to get the same flee and tick prevention medication our dogs have been on for years. I was told they do not carry that brand and that they refuse to authorize prescriptions through any other retailer, online or paper prescription. So now after already paying for a vet visit I have to find and pay for new vet visit just to be able to get my dogs prescription filled with the medicine they’ve responded to the best.

Dr. Thompson is incredible. He is so kind, considerate and knowledgeable. I was blown away by his compassion. The rest of the staff was great too. Friendly, professional and accommodating.nPrices are very reasonable. I brought in a baby rabbit that I saved and they did a great job.nThis is a wonderful veterinary clinic!!!
