After a 35 year relationship with a previous vet practice I needed to find a new clinic. I pass by Burlington Veterinary daily and have noticed how very busy they are ALL THE TIME. My dog wasn’t feeling well so I needed make a decision and I called to make an appointment. I have found the clinic to be professional in their communications both on the phone and via email. We enjoyed our first visit this week and even during Covid-19 they had a well organized process for seeing patients. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and kept us well-informed regarding the care of our dog. They were compassionate and patient with Rosie in understanding the increased stress she was experiencing having to meet new faces without my presence. Cost of veterinary care is always a concern and I felt they were within the expected cost for our visit as well as upcoming procedures. Dr. Esherick has been excellent with the treatment of our dog and I feel he is offering a more conservative approach to her treatment plan which is appreciated. Thank you!

They’re wonderful. We’ve brought our cats & dogs there for years and they’re awesome and want the best for our four legged family members.

Just went there for the first time upon recommendation of a friend.nCalled in and easily scheduled an appointment for the same day.nShowed up, vet techs were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, answering any questions I had.nBoth the vet and the techs were very responsive to me mentioning money was tight and we're kind enough to tell me how much everything cost before asking if I wanted it done, as well as outlining it so I had a general idea of what the total cost would be at the end of the visit.nDr. Trevino was incredibly thorough wanting to do everything possible to figure out what was wrong with my cat.nThings could not have gone more smoothlynAs others have mentioned it is a bit expensive, but it's well worth the money to know your pets are in good hands

If money is no object this is your veterinarian! Your pet’s stomachache can easily turn into a $650 headache with this veterinarian. I do think they are very thorough but they do not tell you how much anything costs until you check out, and it can be quite a Budget breaker if you are not careful. I would have done better if I had gone to the emergency clinic! The procedures that they recommended for this issue were not appropriate in my opinion and overkill. While I do not put a price on my pet’s health, I want a veterinarian that explains to me what we’re doing, why were doing it, and how much it costs before I approve it. It seems like the doctors don’t even really know how much their own procedures cost, nor do they care. If you don’t either- then this is your vet!

Our cats always get thorough care, and all kinds of attention at BVC. Everyone there truly does the best they can to care for and love the animals, and make them, as well as the owners feel comfortable and at home. Example..... one of our little cat buddies had a pretty serious surgery at BVC. All went well, he had an excellent prognosis, and at the end of the day, he was in very stable condition. We were to transport him to a local 24 hr hospital at the end of the day just for overnight monitoring and pain medication administration. Dr. Esherick called the hospital before we left, and gave the Dr. on staff all the information they needed, and his instructions for what medication to administer and how much. Long story short, (and a separate, not so good review for a local animal hospital in Canton) they didn’t follow BVC’s instructions, and actually made our cat’s condition worse. We rushed back and picked him up, and fortunately Dr. Esherick and some of his techs were still at BVC. They were closed, but were more than willing to stay after hours, and got us back in. They stayed calm with the situation, patient with our questions, and stabilized the little guy, undoing what was done at the local hospital. We kept them there until 9 pm on a Friday night and they were still chipper, light hearted, and friendly. I honestly believe if we didn’t get him back to BVC, we wouldn’t have him right now. From there we took him to a hospital in Middletown, with doctors that listened to BVC’s instructions, and he did just fine, and was home the next day on Saturday afternoon. Dr. Esherick even called that Sunday on his own time to check on him.nnEveryone at Burlington Veterinary Center is amazing. But for these circumstances, can’t really thank Dr. Esherick, Sarah, and Becky enough. They did a great job, and really showed they cared for Tunxis. Who would have thought that the best care and compassion your pet would get, would be in a little red building, basically in the middle of no where?
