My cat, Bob, was showing signs of a UTI when I brought him over. The service was wonderful. Everyone was very caring and sweet with him and me. I could not go in with him due the COVID restrictions but they came and spoke with me multiple time to keep me updated. I will definitely come back in an emergency. I highly recommend this practice.
Late morning on Sunday my 1yo lab pup came back to me in the yard limping and pretty much lame in his left leg. Panicked I called the Avon emergency vet: the vet answered right away, asked details questions, and his demeanor helped calm me down. I was nervous taking my pup during Covid, but I knew I needed to have him checked. The vet tech who initially approached my vehicle was a kind and well spoken young lady, as I filled out paperwork she helped my pup out of the car and gently guided him into the building. I waited for a short time and the vet came out and spoke to me through the driver side window. He provided the diagnosis and several options so it was clearly understandable, was not looking to take unnecessary action, and was confident my pup would be okay (a sprain, thankfully not dislocated nor fractured). After another short while the vet tech came back out with my pup and she lifted him into my vehicle and then provided medication and instructions articulately. The diagnosis, treatment, and expectations for how we were to help him recover were neatly typed up along with reminders on medication dosage. All staff were masked, gloved, and made sure the exchanges (of pup, prescriptions, and payment) were done so in a safe manner. I am grateful for their overall pleasant disposition and professionalism, it put me at much greater ease and I can focus on helping my pup get better. Thank you!
In one of our most painful times, our dog passed. They were so kind and gentle with her and us... Thank you so much. Thank you
Awesome service! Great staff!
I am very upset with the service that was provided to my puppy and I believe that the care you gave her may have led to her death if I was not able to bring her to an ACTUAL emergency vet a few hours after leaving your facility. I dont believe that you have the best interest of your patients at heart and it seems like malpractice to give a sick puppy back to its owner minutes before closing and not even tell them that you will be unavailable to check on her or help or even recommend where to go (you are listed as an emergency vet you should be listed as a weekend vet...I did not realize you would be out of touch for both me and future doctors for the whole week or I would have never went there in the first place).nnMy puppy was in your care and you had a stool sample from her that you never sent out to be tested and charged me for anyways. She did not pass a sample for days at the next ER due to lack of nutrients and so we had to do all sorts of expensive tests to try and figure out what was wrong...if you sent the sample out when you had it we could have avoided all of this and got her the care she needed sooner.nnYou handed me a 2lb dog that was throwing up and told me to syringe feed her back to health. You said call if you have any problems and that she loved the syringe and she should be eating about 150 calories a day (that information was given to me after I asked how much and you assured me that the directions were in my goodie bag). Your directions were vague and did not even say how much she should be eating every hour to survive. There was no measurements and no actual directions just feed her some food mixed with water and hold her upright. My puppy was puking because her intestines were swollen shut. She stayed with you overnight and you did not even bother to see why she was throwing everything up. I brought her to the next ER with over 10ML of fluid you told me to pump into her stomach each hour. Not even 8hrs after we left your establishment, did we need to bring her back to an actual emergency Vet who has had her in intensive care at the ICU for DAYS now...partially due to your negligence. If you were unable to give my puppy the care she needed you should have said so not charged me to keep her overnight and cost us another days worth of not eating when she is only 2lbs to begin with. Then I bring her to the next doctor and you arent even available to talk to anyone about what you saw. I called you (like you led me to believe that I could) crying asking for help because my poor dog was fading away infront of me and no other vet had seen her yet and could offer me advice but you and you weren't there. You knew when you gave her to me the risks and you should have told me to take her right to another facility that could actually figure out what was wrong. You led me to believe that it wasn't that bad and that everything would be okay.nnIt was wrong of you to hand me a 2 lb puppy who was still throwing up and still sick and lead me to believe that I could nurse her back to health when you didn't even bother to see what was wrong with her. She could have had an obstruction in her intestines, she could have died in my arms that night as I fought to feed a dog who was unable to pass anything and who you did not even bother to run any tests on. No stool sample was sent out, no blood work was done. I am beyond words at how heartbroken I am that my baby may not make it and is in ER intensive care. My biggest regret is bringing her to your establishment where you wasted a day, that she did not have, to do nothing for her when she really needed it.nnI hope that you guys shut down that way you are never able to be so negligent ever again and no other poor animals have to suffer at your hands.
