Dr. Pennington is the most caring veterinarian I've ever met. The staff is also great. Thank you all and Happy Holidays

Very friendly and very organized. I like how quickly the vet prescribed medication for our dear newly adopted kitten. I like the follow up communication and letting us know the results of test and additional medication and care that was needed. I appreciated the experience so much we like them to continue her vet care.

The staff here is so nice. I have visited several times with various cats and kittens that I foster for a rescue organization, and they are always friendly and caring. Parking can get a little tight in their little lot at busy times though. I've never been inside since I started going there while COVID protocols have been in place, so the staff retrieves your animals from your car and returns them to your car after treatment. They do a lot of work for the rescue organization I help - grateful for their support!

Important Clinic Policy Update from Dr. Larry Pennington, Windsor Animal Clinic Owner:nnCOVID-19 has changed our world and certainly how we offer veterinary care at the Windsor Animal Clinic. I wish to address some of the changes that are now considered the new “norm” in pet care and emphasize that our policies are all about Insuring the public’s, our pets’ and my staff’s safety.nnAll of our pet visits are now through curbside service which is now the standard of care nationwide where clients remain in the parking lots. Most clients have been accepting of this policy change and understand why this social distancing extreme has been taken. Unfortunately that’s met some disapproval by a few who also often don’t bring cell phones which we absolutely require. We then have no way to communicate with the person in the car, can’t get a history or the pet’s info, or credit card information. Sending hand written notes back and forth to the car is way too time consuming and not fair to other clients. We presently only take credit cards over the phone and don’t accept cash or checks. This has on occasion presented a problem. Sanitation is important in our practice and limiting what we handle like plastic and money Is essential to our safety.nnComplaints of an hour long wait at our clinic are many times a result of adjustments we have to make on the communications end with our clients. Phone calls don’t always get picked up after multiple attempts to the client in the car, the quality of the audio isn’t always ideal, and some people just aren’t use to the cell phone technology. All of which slows down our efficiency. Our efficiency in speed at running to the car, bringing the pet in, diagnosing and treating the patient and finalizing the transaction with the payment information is about 80% with an average visit time per pet of 20-25 minutes. Many practices are still operating at 60%. We are doing better than most and I want to thank my staff for their hard work, dedication, willingness to work through lunch hours and being in shape. The physical toll of a day’s work is exhausting when we may see 40-50 patients in a day. Our phone calls since COVID have tripled with about 3 calls coming in every 5 minutes. Clients are more talkative than ever these days, all of which ties up all of our phone lines. I hope you now understand how demanding it is working inside.nnWe wish to care for your pets in the best way, and appreciate everyone that follows our rules and policies. We have posted the list on our website if you are unfamiliar with our requirements. Our ability to offer the best veterinary medicine possible is to encourage everyone to follow our protocols. Telemedicine has also helped ease our burden, and many cases can be effectively handled this way which is a service we offer on Thursday mornings.nnWe wish to thank you for allowing us to care for your precious fur babies and choosing us as your provider. Like you, I can’t wait until the smoke clears with the pandemic and we can allow you back inside. We miss your smiling faces and our interactions with your pets in your presence. Stay safe!nnWarm regards,nDr. Larry PenningtonnWindsor Animal Clinic Owner
