The staff at Prairie Animal Hospital and Dr. Reese are the best care team I've ever had for my animals! We've been going to PAH for years, but recently one of my dogs developed a somewhat uncommon disease that was very uncomfortable for him. We weren't sure he would recover. Not only did Dr. Reese and her team get us through that, but my dog made a full recovery and has been able to enjoy life again. Although we still have our health struggles now and again, this team keeps my fur babies thriving and happy. I will always continue to come to Prairie Animal Hospital, because they're always so quick to get us in, compassionate, friendly, and cost is also surprisingly good for the amount and level of care we receive. Thank you so much!
My dog is a dachshund and she had a disc slip in her back and she was paralyzed, when i took her to this vet (prairie animal hospital) they told me she would be paralyzed forever and when i asked about a doggy wheelchair they told me it was more humane to PUT HER DOWN, i obviously left with my dog and found another vet (Through online research) who did acupuncture and laser therapy and she is WALKING and HEALTHY, this hospital should be SHUT DOWN AND INVESTIGATED, do not take your pets here, they want your money and don’t care about you or you pet’s best interest. I hope that vet burns in hell. If they read this SHAME ON YOU how do you sleep at night?! Please see any other vet especially NOT HERE even in an emergency! They would’ve KILLED my dog for no reason at all & tried to make me feel bad for letting her “suffer” when she is walking, if i can i will try to post photos for PROOF or message me & i will show you myself. I don’t want anymore animals killed by these disgusting excuses for “humans”.
The visit was great. Well not for my baby but he will get better. Dr Johnson and her tech were fabulous. They both were so helpful.
They are horrible at their jobs. I really hope they go out of business and have their license revoked. They failed on multiple accounts to diagnose our animals properly, resulting in ones death. We took our lab to another vet after repeated trips to this failed attempt at a hospital and she was diagnosed with cancer, the other vet said if we had found it sooner, she would have lived. They did their best. Prarie had said she had gallbladder stones. If you love your pets do not bring them here, they will likely just try to get money out of you and do nothing for your pet.
I had used their services for my pets in the past years and found them to be inaccurate and their staff in particular the office manager and those under her, to be less than nice. At that time the young woman weighing my small (5 lb) dog did not know the difference between ounces and decimals; using an incorrect weight in her record. This error for a very small dog could be fatal when a medicine is administered. When I tried to get this corrected I was treated very poorly. Hence this and other treatment reasons, I moved on to another vet. Today their office staff, years later seems to have the same attitude problems, passed on to new employees over the years.nnThey are one of the few places to get Kootenai county, Hayden city dog licenses. When I called to find out if they still issued the licenses the young woman, who did not identify herself repeated my question to me as if she were asking me. That didn't start the conversation off well. She then informed me that I needed a regular appointment (dog checkup) to buy a license. I explained that I purchased one there in May of this year and I needed to just purchase a new license and had already had the checkup and the shot at my vet who does not issues these licenses. She then came back after a wait to tell me that they didn't offer licenses to those that were not patients. Again I explained that I purchased the licenses only (without a checkup) in May and could she check. Then she came back and said yes they do sell them. I then explained to her that she need to make sure her information was correct before giving it out and I was VERY POLITE and VERY NICE to her and explained that I wanted her to learn as I understand being new (she did mention that she was in training) is difficult. I told her I was sorry that I wasn't trying to be mean to her, but for her to understand that you don't assume when giving information. Again I thanked her for her help. Several minutes later I received a very hostile phone call from Prairie Medical from a different woman who did not identify herself either and she told me in no uncertain terms that they didn't like the way I spoke to the first young woman and they didn't want me to use their services, and hung up on me even though tried to talk politely to her too.nnNow I don't know if the same office manager/management is at the helm at this facility from my previous experience years ago and although many of the doctors are probably very fine, their support staff seems to have some problems that are less than desirable. Therefore, I was prompted to relay my experiences with this facility. It was less than pleasant and I would not recommend them for this reason.nnMy message to the doctors or management that own this facility is to look that the company attitude/atmosphere that is projected by the people who interface with the public. Proper training in phone and in person interfacing can make a difference. In time of stress, one up problems can occur. Sometimes misunderstandings occur, but repeat attitude induced conflicts indicate long running problems that negates good service from other members of staff.
