Cremation Society of Idaho

Our family very much appreciated the care shown when they came to pick up my dad. Tnhey were respectful & not pushy in a difficult time. They worked seamlessly with ID Veterans Cemetery! We had everything we needed as far as documentation too.

We picked Cremation Society based on a previous experience & the fact that it was the first place that came to mind when the pressure of calling someone to remove the remains from their apartment was upon us.nnOur initial contact was decent. The gentlemen who prepared my father for transport were compassionate & understanding. They gave me hope that our overall experience would be relatively smooth, under the circumstances.nnWe were told they'd give us at least 24 hours before contacting us to make arrangements. This was not the case. I received a phone call first thing the next morning from a funeral director, pressuring me to start the arrangements.nnI informed him that we had to wait for the Coroner's office to give permission to proceed with cremation; because it was an unattended death there had to be an investigation. He didn't know that. He actually didn't know anything about my father's passing & instead of asking questions, kept pressuring me to make an appointment to make arrangements. When I informed him I was waiting for my mother to get in to town he backed off, a little.nnAfter my husband spoke with same funeral director, we decided to request a different one. This was a blessing, as they called in a funeral director from one of their affiliates & our experience with him & his funeral home was what I'd hoped for.nnLong story short, Cremation Society made many mistakes (repeatedly getting my dad's name wrong, getting the urn wrong...) & I am not inclined to give a truly positive review.nnHowever, after I spoke to their managing partner & he offered to fix the urn mistake & he apologized for their having failed us. This was their only saving grace.nnThe new urn still does not have the full name that WE PAID FOR & REQUESTED REPEATEDLY, supposedly because the font was too big (I had requested a smaller font when they offered to correct it), but my family has no more energy to deal with this.nnWe must now move on & hopefully forget the unnecessary heartache caused by Cremation Society of Idaho.
