I came to Boundary Bay/AEC because it is 24-hour and the ones closest to me had very long wait times or no availability til next day. My kitty possibly had lily poisoning, so she had to stay for 48 hours. All of the staff I talked with was so kind and helpful. They made a scary experience a much better one and took great care of my sweet girl. I'm so grateful! Absolutely worth the hour drive. Thank you, everyone!

In July I took my dog to Boundary Bay after being referred there to have mass under her left leg checked, after charging me $800 for X-rays and blood work was told they couldn't determine the nature of the mass and wanted to do cat scan for $1700...if it was an intermuscular they gave me an estimate of $3800 for surgery.. That's a total of $5500...if another kind of mass would refer me to Seattle or Pullman for another cat scan and said that treatment would cost $6-12k for treatment. Neither option was acceptable to me, took her to Village Vets where they charged me $98 for diagnosis and then removed the mass for surgery cost of$1200...seems like all Boundary Bay was just trying to really rip me off and I wasted $800!

Dr. Herrera has cared for our dog with cancer for the last 11/2 years. She has always clearly given us options, spent as much time with us as needed, promptly called with test results and explained things clearly. As a health care professional myself, I feel qualified to assess her. She is a consummate professional, kind and caring, a top notch oncologist and person. And her assistant Lori is as well.

Dr. Rowe-Guthrie is very nice and did a great job on my cats surgery. Lori is sweet too and the vet tech who has done basically everything after.nnThe two stars is for Dr. Herrera in oncology and for the absolute cluster that is billing and records.nDr. Herrera is inconsistent in her recommendations and lacks bedside manner. She charges you for basically walking in the door and I've only seen/talked to her a handful of times in the five months we've been going.nThey also have a Canadian clinic and if your records end up sent to the wrong clinic hopefully you can figure it out yourself because they won't be calling you.nFor over two weeks I've been trying to get my records straightened out, my vet says they sent it, boundary bay says they didn't get it, boundary bay says they'll call my vet and ask for the records and call me, boundary bay doesn't call me, I call again, we go round and round. I finally got incredibly frustrated and after pushing them to figure it out it turns out it got sent to their Canadian clinic. You'd think that if they're requesting records they'd give the location to send them to especially if their other clinic doesn't share info with the Bellingham clinic right?

Kind staff, fair pricing. Our golden's knee surgery became two knee surgeries due to a skin infection which had gone unnoticed (he's so fluffy). Boundary Bay was very sensitive of our financial constraints and worked with us to minimize any overlapping costs between the two surgeries.
