VCA Five Points Animal Hospital

I took my pet for blood in her stool and received a prescription for 10 pills for a total of $21. I accidentally dropped some and needed 4 to complete the dosage. They were happy to refill the FOUR pills for SEVENTEEN DOLLARS.nSeriously? Way to take advantage....

I wouldn’t take my dead goldfish to this veterinarian for care.nWe’ve always been less than satisfied with the care and service we were provided here. From 5 mins exams where a so called vet hardly ever looked at your pet, let alone gave you the time of day.nnJust the other day our English Bulldog was having issues throwing up and being very lethargic. We called at 11 and they were so kindly able to get me an emergency appointment at 1pm. We went and while discussing issues with the vet, we decided to do an X-rays to make sure there weren’t any blockages. They did and I was told by the vet everything was clear. Her stomach and intestines were empty. So they loaded her with fluids, anti nausea and diarrhea meds and sent me home with a big bill.nnWe got home and my pet kept throwing up.nI called back and they assured me she was fine but I knew she wasn’t, so we took her to PVSEC on Camp Horne Road and thank god we did. Within minutes of arriving they informed us they did an X-ray and found a major blockage in her intestines and emergency surgery would have to be performed.nnHad we not went with our guts and took her to another vet, god knows what would have happened. We have reached out to Five Points and they have not returned our calls. We truly hope someone else doesn’t have to go through what we did because someone can’t read an X-ray. It’s sad that animals suffer due to their lack of education, understanding and mere ignorance.

I have a 6 month old labradoodle and they have been nothing but helpless. Currently I am dealing with a bee sting in my dogs foot and an unknown issue causing him to throw up and diarrhea on a frequent basis. He does not feel good and it’s been over a week since I heard from the doctor regarding a stool test that takes 1-3 days to usually get back. I’m sure they have short staff and aren’t able to do things quickly but I am not able to care for my dog until they help and figure out what is wrong. The doctor was very rude and did not seem to care about the fact that my dog has been suffering considering how long he has been sick and what is wrong. I was talked over on the phone and just don’t feel like they care about my puppy. The my vca care club plan is not even worth it in my opinion and they sure don’t treat you like a “member”.

Terrible experience..... Completely upset with the whole visit. It was not a welcoming place. The vet seemed afraid of my 5 month old German shepherd. Asked multiple questions about her and got oh I wouldn’t worry about it. Here to find out I take her somewhere else and get that she did have ear infections.They didn’t even do a full exam. I was not told a single price of anything while I was there. (Other then the care plan). Would not even rate 1 star. I would not recommend to anyone. It’s been 3 weeks and I have yet to receive my rabies tag for my dog.

WORST VET EVER !!! NEVER WASTE TIME OR MONEY HERE !!!nnThey lost all of my dogs paper work!
