Wood St Station

The Wood Street Station has had some improvements over the years, but it's still pretty terrible.nnThey've installed a touch- screen kiosk, but no one I saw today could actually get it to work, so it's not really useful.nnThe Port Authority is installing charging ports on buses, but these outlet in this station had a giant sign stating it's illegal to to use it.nnFinally, the Port Authority police like to loiter here, but none of them say anything to the throngs of smokers puffing away next to all the no smoking signs.

Convenient location with a lot of variety of spots surrounding it or immediately nearby. Easy in/out to renew bus passes. Simple to catch the T in either direction. Needs paper schedules stocked better though.

Great travel hub for anyone without a vehicle.

The Wood Street T station is my favorite place to tell people that I don't smoke when they ask me for Newports. The steps are conveniently placed between each of the 3 levels allowing for easy access. They are also ideally spaced allowing for efficient, but not overbearing strides. The T pulls right up to the deck which is also convenient. The large, open space in the waiting area provides excellent acoustics for the occasional street rapper who sings like he's in the hood and dances like he's in the shower. I recommend the Wood Street T station for anyone on Wood Street who needs to catch a T.
