Doctor Cooley and her staff are wonderful! They are kind and thorough, and I never question that my fur baby is in the best hands! Thank you all for taking such good care of Mater!

I just took my 7 year old pug here today after being treated at the ER for his eye. I initially thought it was a single moderate scratch of the cornea. After rapidly deteriorating and developing a pool of blood in his eye, the doctor at Olympia Pet Emergency referred us to Dr. Cooley. I can’t speak more highly of Dr. Cooley or her sweet staff. All the staff were kind and loving towards my hurt dog and treated him so well. Even the dog we brought with (moral support for the one who was hurting) was given some attention. Maybe it’s because I’m 2 months pregnant, but their kindness and helpfulness at a time when I was overwhelmed with worry that he’d be losing his eye for good made me shed some tears when we finally got into the car with him. Ditka is not out of the clear completely and he has a way to go, but they got us going in the right direction. I feel so safe and secure with my little guy seeing Dr. Cooley and her veterinary eye clinicians. Thank you!! Many times over, thank you!!

Very helpful people. I feel quite confident they will do the best they can for our girl.

The staff is amazing! Which is why I'm doing 2 stars instead of 1. They really are very kind and caring. Unfortunately, as kind and caring as Dr Cooley is, she lacked some knowledge. She said that our 3 year old GSD had an autoimmune disorder. She wasn't able to give me a specific name of any type of autoimmune disorder when I asked. My personal conclusion was that it was a blanket diagnosis for not knowing what was actually wrong. At our initial appointment she told us that our dog would be on prednisone for the rest of her life and that she have a shortened lifespan because of the prednisone. We were also told she would end up going blind regardless. At our 2nd appointment she told us that the prednisone was causing some degeneration and we would need to cut her dosage back. We did this but the effects of the prednisone were still causing big issues. Our dog ended up having dramatic weight loss and we were struggling to keep her at a healthy weight, a result of the prednisone (according to our new eye dr).nnWe moved to New York and got with a new animal ophthalmologist. It has been 3 months since our first appointment with our new eye dr here in NY and our dog is free of oral prednisone and will only be taking a prednisone eye drop for 2 more weeks. Her current eye dr said he never wants to see her again. She has mild scarring from what she went through, but she will be able to go on living as if this had never happened.nnI wanted to write this review in case there is anyone else who is up against something similar. Also, to promote some awareness. I welcome any questions anyone may have about our dog's experience. Feel free to reach out to me. No dog should have to die younger than necessary due to poor treatment plans. My email is [email protected]
