High Plains Veterinary Hospital

After moving, we were referred to this vet so we decided to try it and we loved it! Would definitely recommend coming here. Our interactions with all staff were friendly and welcoming. The vet took her time to greet herself and explained everything in detail regarding our kitten. We weren't pressured into medications or anything extra that was unnecessary. We didnt feel rushed and felt heard. We appreciate the great customer service and care to our little kitty!!

They have cared for my dogs numerous times and have shown great service! From puppy check ups and shots to spaying and neutering the pups, even emergency situations with the older pup they’ve resolved, explained, and returned the doggy’s safely! Highly recommend!

Tech, vet, receptionist all very kind and gentle with my dog.nVet phone visit was thorough and very helpful, not rushed.nFirst visit, b/c of Covid did not go inside but was pleased with visit for exam and vaccination.nFair price.

I love this place. Seriously my dogs love their Vets.. Its not the cheapest, but I've ALWAYS had phenomenal care of all my fur babies.. when they heard our cat had passed away, the vet who took care of him called me.. and they sent a condolence card..

I've been to a handful of veterinarians in several states due to my travels over the past ten years and High Plains is the best office I've been to. They have seen 4 of our 5 cats and we have seen several of their doctors. They are all very knowledgeable, to include the doctors, techs, and also the front desk staff. I also appreciate that they will only prescribe a medication if it is necessary. I was pleased when we left one appointment medication-free because I was told that continuing with the Enisyl that my cat was currently receiving will get her over her cold.nnI also have to say that the compassion shown in this office is like no other I have been to. I had to put one of our cats down at the local emergency clinic last week (it was 4 am, High Plains was not open), and we received, not only a sympathy card with a personalized message from Dr. Matz, but also a lovely flower arrangement. It brought me to tears when I read who it was from. In addition, when I had to put a second cat down less than two months later, they told me that I was fine to just head home afterwards and I could take care of the bill at another time (I was very upset and they didn't want me going through the extra discomfort of checking out at the front desk at that time). My appreciation for that level of compassion can not be described.nnThank you to everyone at High Plains. I am so glad that I have a trusted office for my furry babies.nn**Update: we became clients of High Plains in 2013 or 2014 with our cats and dog. However, we've noticed a decline in the customer service provided, likely as a result of their seemingly high turnover rate for doctors. They randomly started requiring we muzzle our large dog when he comes in (they've known him for 4+ years) and they now all seem scared of him, although they've never mentioned having any issues with him (and we haven't, either). It no longer feels like the warm and welcoming environment it once was. As a result, we've switched to another practice in the last year.
