I have had two recent deaths in my family (my uncle and my grandmother) in Colorado Springs over the past 4 months and had two very different experiences with two different funeral homes. For the short story, I’ll just say that if you are in the unfortunate need of a mortuary service or funeral home that I would absolutely recommend The Springs. I’ve shopped around and spoken to all the notable services in the area. Take it from me, you won’t find more kind, genuine, honest, or affordable services than those at The Springs. If you’re overwhelmed and don’t want to read further, just give them a call now. You won’t regret it!nnFor those who are still reading, here’s why:n- From my first call to 6 places at 7:30pm, The Springs was the only one to actually answer the phone and get me to a funeral director immediately. No answering service, no voicemail, no waiting on a call back. Just real people who were empathetic and generous with their time. From the first touch point with Terri to the last with Tina (and everyone I encountered in between), I could not have asked for anything more!n- The Springs did not do any unnecessary up-selling. My grandmother was very specific for her instructions for a simple cremation and a small family memorial at home. A couple places tried to up sell me into “memorial statues” or “places of remembrance” at their facilities. It felt like other places were leaning on my recent loss to guilt me into extras that my grandma didn’t want or need, and they definitely pushed harder when I politely declined.n- Family owned. I love supporting local where I can, but more importantly the people who work at The Springs genuinely love their jobs and are not just there for a paycheck or to take your money and run.n- Affordability. I wasn’t necessarily looking for the cheapest option. I wanted my deceased grandma and my very alive family to be treated kindly and to have a professional experience. That said, of the 6 places I called The Springs was only about $50 more expensive than the lowest cost we were quoted for our needs. The Springs stuck to their cost and were extremely prompt, professional and kind throughout our experience.n- Customer Service & Professionalism. We worked with Tina at the Platte location and she was absolutely incredible. She was super informative, communicative, and empathetic throughout our experience. Not only did she take her specific role with professionalism, but she went far above and beyond to educate me in frequently asked questions and offered several recommendations for things that may be helpful after Grandma’s memorial (estate selling services, etc). Tina stayed late to allow me to bring the outfit grandma wanted to be in and she was incredibly patient with my family and I with our exhaustion and emotional state.n- Crematory on site. I know this sounds weird, but having the crematory on site means that you aren’t waiting for a 3rd party to shuffle your loved one between locations.nnI’ll close by saying that my experience with a completely different corporate chain funeral home for my uncle was absolutely horrid. The death certificate had a typo from the funeral director. They were impossible to get ahold of. There was no communication and no commitment to keeping a timeline. We almost didn’t have the remains returned in time for the small graveside service for my uncle from this other corporate place. I know it may seem like “they’re all the same”. I promise that isn’t the case. It matters who you choose for these final steps for your loved ones, and you definitely want those who are living and handling the details to also be treated with kindness and respect. I am extremely grateful for the service my family and grandma received from The Springs. I would 100% recommend The Springs and Tina to anyone who is in need of services.

We are from Denver I had to help with the arrangements for my fathers death at a memorial place here in Denver. The Springs Funeral Services in Colorado Springs (Platte Ave) way surpassed my expectations when we went to plan my uncles services. They didn't try to over charge us and helped bring down the costs to help our family stay within our budget for the funeral. All the staff was very caring and professional. The day of the services we were greeted by staff that helped us with arranging the food we bought. I'm not one to give reviews but felt I needed to give this company a review so others know there is still a company out there that cares and is compassionate when it comes to helping people at the most difficult time in their lives.

The entire staff of The Springs Funeral Services is caring, professional, trustworthy, and helpful. They were upfront about their pricing, which was very reasonable compared to other funeral homes in town. And, they were flexible by providing only the services that we needed without trying to guilt or upsell us into a higher priced package. It made the entire process just a little bit easier knowing that they were taking great care our loved one and that they were always available for any questions or concerns that we had.
